Have you also tested with a bigger aircooler or closed loop watercooler?

 No.. no need really.

The stock 980x cooler with my 2x 24v fans on it keeps load temps below 50c @ 4.4ghz with 4c/8t ... this particular CPU needs a good boost in vcore to scale beyond that range. I will just run -0 on DI when I need to test faster. For the most part, air testing allows me to dial in efficiency and test things like drivers and BIOS updates before strapping on a POT and freezing for good scores. wink.gif

*small update*

Been focusing on RAM OC with mobo lately.. gaining ground slowly. Up on my previous best for 32mil stable RAM clocks.. now pushing +2600mhz settings for stable 32mil runs wink.gif

SA voltage - 1.224v

RAM v - 1.81v real

9-12-12-27 stable up to 2500mhz

now booting +2600mhz, 10-13-13-31

Previous efforts, it seems were hindered by my low SA voltage.. I will try 9-11-11-17 again for 2400mhz and up and see where I get. Still learning this platform and mobo some.. things are coming together though.

Team LV 2133mhz kit, HCH9

1.83v real

1.26v SA

1.2v VTT

10-12-12-24 1T

tRFC - 110

tWR - 8

tWTR - 7

tRRD - 6

tRTP - 6

tWCL - 7

tCKE - 5

tertiary cannot tighten as much as I would like on this kit.. just as well, its low bin.

tRWRDD - 5

tRWSR - 4

tWWSR - 5

tRRSR - 5

32mil stable with above settings..efficiency is still off; as I am not able to improve on my below 4ghz time with 2300mhz settings and tighter tertiary

*working on addressing the following with MSI for BIOS support :

tRRD - lowest setting available is 4 currently.. need 3,2,1 !

tWR - missing '9' as available option.. choices are 7,8,10 !

working tFAW and tRTL - manual setting results in no POST

DRAM refresh options

**bonus - achieved 32mil stable with my 2133mhz kit @ 2600mhz

So long as your referring to the PCI-E 1x... then yes. You could.

*You could not.. if your card required using the 3rd full size PCI-E.. you could not run SLI, as you would not have enough lanes for the 2nd GPU to function for SLI.. Xfire you would though.
