If you want a more natural sounding speaker, I've heard that the Pioneer setup is very excellent for the money.

If you go that route, I would shoot for these as your surround pair:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882117406

And then this as your center:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882117404

What subwoofer are you going to use? Also, what do you plan on listening to through this? Music, Movies, or both? Also, what will be powering these?

This is a piece together ATM so I have no chosen a Sub or Receiver as of yet. The sub will be a no go for a bit as I live in an apartment and a pounding sub will not cut it until I move.. As of right now I am looking for 4 speakers + a receiver. Sub will have to be last.

So the set of books I posted 4x for 99.00 are not that great?

I would go for the Pioneer towers, and the larger Pioneer bookshelfs (as your rears). If you're not wanting a center channel yet, don't forget to get that in the future before this series gets phased out. Subwoofer can always be added later, that won't have to match up.

The Polk speakers are fine, but I've honestly never heard those particular ones. Those look like a floor standing version of the Monitor 30 to me. Which would probably be fine, but I wouldn't even know what to pair with it to finish things off properly.

What kind of Receiver would you recommend for any of these speakers above that I chose or you chose.

To be honest, I would shoot for a mid range Yamaha or better. You'll want something with some decent grunt behind it if you ever want FULL potential out of any floor standing speaker. I snagged my RX 467 off TigerDirect "refurbished" (it came BNIB though) for $200. So look for something Yamaha and 4xx or higher. I will most DEFINITELY stand behind Yamaha receivers, I absolutely love mine to death.

There's a refurbished RX367 on newegg for $134, but I honestly don't feel that it'll have enough grunt to push floor standing speakers to their fullest potential cleanly. It looks to be roughly 40-50w RMS per channel or so, where you'll be wanting 60-80w RMS or so per channel as a minimum. Don't go by what they "claim", those are always perfect scenario results that they claim.

$100 EACH, and he's wanting 4 speakers and no sub.

I do agree that those are excellent speakers, but you yourself even said that those aren't worth it at $200 / pair.

I will eventually get a Sub but I cant really till I move.If I get a sub now I will be screwed as it will be sitting for sometime and not even be used. I am moving next june so a sub now will sit and not get used till then. I would say a receiver, center & 4 speakers is where I want to be with the build.

As for those Infinitys they look sweet but 4 speakers at 400.00 I just cant cut that on this build. I am looking for spend $200.00 on a pair of 4 speakers, 100 or below on a center and id say if possible 250 on a receiver. I know thats a small budget but I want a setup now I dont want to have to wait months down the road for more cash

I was also thinking this. How would x2 Speakers sound, Center & receiver? Instead of 4 speakers. I know its more surround sound but would x2 of those Pioneer towers sound sweet and be loud?

Check it out....

Receiver - $300

Fronts - $120:

Center - $50:

Rears - $100:

Puts you at a grand total of $570 shipped for everything. All you'll need at that point is cables, and a subwoofer if you feel you need one later on.

Your total budget you posted above is $550. What I just posted would be $570 shipped (plus wiring which is dirt cheap on monoprice). You could always wait on the surround speakers, and pick up those when they go on sale (if they do). I haven't seen the larger Pioneer bookshelfs on sale in a long time, its always the small dinky ones that go on sale. You COULD use the small / dinky ones that are $50 shipped instead. They'd work just fine as a rear channel, but you will lose out on the lower mid bass coming out of them, which does happen sometimes in movies.
