no word of a lie buddy, the best board i ever OC'd with was a crosshair VI formula.

for that processor, you'll be in great hands, and you can pick one up these days really cheap.

I'm gonna try pushing to 1.5V to get 4.0Ghz+ and see if I get stability (Windows BSOD is telling me I need more voltage) I'm maxing my temp at 40C again. I'm running 3.9Ghz now.

Edit: It seems to be running stable-er.. Only time will tell. Only needed to go to 1.485 to get 3.9Ghz stability. Maxing at 45C.

I couldn't get 3.9Ghz stable with 3000Mhz on the CPU/NB so I dropped it to 2600Mhz, hopefully it'll allow a bit more wiggle room.

(Anything above 1.5V makes my computer shut down, so I can't actually increase my VCore beyond 1.5)

Oddly enough.. At 3.9Ghz only one core seems to fail, all the rest run fine.

Mines stuck at 3.8Ghz. I have spent months trying to get higher. Spoke with people in Mumble, opened a thread here, talked to people in IRC. I know it can go higher but for some reason its being stubborn.

(The second time I tried to post this, prime95 is ruthless against forum posters!)

I think your's and mine might be twins, I've been trying constantly to get over that 3.8Ghz hump and I still can't get it to stay stable. Usually its just one core (The 5th one, every time) fails and the rest are fine. Maybe its a bad core?

I'm currently running 1.5125V on the VCore, on my fourth pass in prime95. Here's hoping that 1 tick helps!

Yeah um, I'd say that 1.5v is too much.

You should calm it down a bit as, to be honest, you don't seem like you fully know what your doing.

EDIT: Oh and by the way, I had the same problem with my 5th core, it was always the weakest one when I had my 1090t. I only ever put it to 3.8Ghz at 1.3 something volts I believe due to heat.

I'm sure I'm fine. I've seen people run 24/7 builds on air at 1.55v and even higher on water. I'm assuming at this point that its my motherboard that's holding me back, seeing that others with this board had similar issues. Thanks for caring about my hardware though thumb.gif

Be careful above 1.5. Been there done that, last victim:

I still miss that board frown.gif

1090T are stubbord little cpus lol. It took me forever to get 4.0! i had to skype for a good three hours with an ocn member helping me when i first got my 1090T. I got her up to 4.145 a few days ago just messing around since i started watercooling. i had to force it to accept and like 4.1 for a while lol. my MB does not like me. Im trying for 4.3 to 4.5 but my volts are at 1.475 at the moment. It is usually the ram that can set you back the most as well.
I think the RAM setting you back part only applies to people like me who use locked chips. tRFC's affect on the FSB clock is pretty substantial. That said, so glad I didn't get an unlocked chip, seems like cranking multipliers for an OC just doesn't work as good as it should on paper rolleyes.gif
