You should just use the D14 the way it's meant to be - installing a 3rd fan, let alone a 4th fan, is going to make your temps about 1c cooler at the most optimistic state. It can also **** the whole thing up, just so you know.
well it doesnt hurt to add fans if you got extras lying here n' there smile.gif
also , i like modding and trying new stuff ,, since am mechanic & engines student smile.gif
am being lazy today ill try all your suggestions guys tomorrw maybe thanks everyone
appreciated

#1) Get the extra fans off of there. You are just interfering with the airflow of the stock fans. Put the stock fans--on your cooler--into the stock positions and only use them.

#2) When you apply thermal grease, it should be only be a grain of rice amount right in the center off the cpu. Like this. And let the cooler pressure spread it when you install the cooler.

#3) Intel Burn Test runs a LOT hotter than Prime95 and, there is nothing you will be doing with your computer that will run it that hard. When you want to stress test or check load temps, just use Prime95.

i believe my problem is related to this topic i am running my 3770k @ 4.5Ghz, 1.25V. under a Noctua NH-D14. the ambient temp during the test is 24c. idle temps are 48c min 56c max, running prime 95 84c min, 91c max. i think there may be a problem. do these temps look right?

holy temps batman! that's a tad way too hot there sire. Houston, I believe we need to do an airflow check. tongue.gif
What case do you use, and what intakes/exhaust fans are installed? It shouldn't be THAT high.
