Currently I have this 12 gig triple channel set:
F3-10666CL7T-12GBRH (4Gx3).

I used for a few months then I switched to a dual channel motherboard.
I took 2 sticks and put them in my Asus p8z77 le to use as 8 gigs total in dual channel. It seems to work fine.
I would like to fill out with 8 more gigs (2x4gb) for a total of 16 gigs.
Could I buy this additional 4g x 2 set:
F3-10666CL7D-8GBRH (4Gx2)
http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=322
and put in the remaining 2 slots. should that work? ( I know I would have one spare but thems the breaks)
What I mean to ask is: Are they basically the same (just one set is for triple channel and one for dual channel)?
I know at the computer store or manufacturer they "say" always buy as one big single kit but other threads I read state it doesn't matter as much. In your experience since the specs are the same and same manufacturer, do you think it would be ok?
Many thanks
