Thank you for clarifying, I was wondering if you could reccomend me a video or something visual because I am a visual learner, and is this a permanent fix? And then I obviously change the thermal paste, right? gotta order it soon

Ok so I looked at a few ps3 baking things and they talk about getting some liquid to reflow? Do I need to do that?, my ps3 isn't ylod yet but it's showing symptoms- I also read another one and it says to put it in the oven at 150 for 8 hours than take it out rap it up then put in at 400 for 5-10 minutes, ***?

That makes no sense. Put in at 400 for 5-10 minutes. The liquid they are talking about is liquid flux. You drip it under each chip with the board at a tilt till it comes out the other side. you do this to all 4 sides. Then bake the thing. This prevents the solder from going places it shouldn't. I still don't bother. Just bake the sucker like I said before.

I have fixed about 30 consoles (360s) doing this. It works fine and applies the same to the PS3. Be forwarned, it does make an electronic smell in your house.
