I dont feel bad one bit. It would kind of suck if i break it and then reward their lack of effort in their TIM(cost cut) with ANOTHER purchase of the same processor. But i would have never purchased one had i known this heat OC issue before hand.

It's not about feeling bad or what someone would do, If you want to do it, go ahead. You are the one taking the chance. The problem here, at least for me, is suggesting someone else to do so in an open forum without full disclosure.
I will say that you feeling entitled to defraud someone for their cost cutting policies is something you should think really hard about it.
Their product works well within the specified parameters, even with a mild OC (4.4 - 4.6) you will get very good results, the high temperature issue was well known in the first few days after the NDA was lifted, if you planned to do some extreme OCing, should have waited for the reviews to come out before buying it.

What OC issues ?

Also i do not think they used Tim for Cost cutting...

They used it to stop Ib From overclocking to high as to not hurt Sells of SB-E in 99% of the computing world where nothing uses more then 8 threads clock for clock a 3770k is dead even with a 3930x...

Now what would happen if the 3770k would do lets say 5ghz - 5.3ghz on Avg.. Then where is the Market for the 560$ 3930k? it would almost have none.

Hence Slap tim on the 3770k and choke it to make it a better performer then SB but Never being able to be Much faster then SB-E Hence holding a Market for SB-E

About what percentage of people here would return their chip if it died while overclocking it? No physical signs of tampering evident, are you going to include in your RMA letter a detailed description of what voltages you tried and for how long it was kept at which clock speeds? It's technically fraud to return a chip run out of spec for warranty replacement, but they make you pay extra for one that is capable of running out of spec.....

How many amps does a CPU use? If it's running at 1.5v and uses 150w (to make it simple) is it really using 100 amps?

Anywho... you should be able to find them at local grocery store, or wal-mart has them as well. Just in the shaving isle.

I can shave my face with these? biggrin.gif

yup, and I find I get a better shave, plus the blades are way cheaper than cartridge razors or even the disposable bic type.

this site is sort of the overclock.net of shaving

Are they thinner than you typical single edge box cutter blades?

been a while since I've used a box cutter, but from memory yes a double edge razor blade for shaving is thinner
more flexible too. Obvious danger though is that there is a cutting edge on both sides so you can't get the same use of force on it like you would with say one of those single edged hobby razor blades that has the rounded metal on the side opposite the blade
