The right time to buy a 27"? - Page 2

I only play simplistic games like CoD, LoL and WoW. So I'm not too concerned - I can just bump down the res on them.

I am *very* tempted, it seems too good to be true though!

I'll get my tape measure out when I get home and see how big it will be, I'll double check my graphics outputs too but I'm quite sure they are compatible.

Thanks for all your suggestions!

Their is no way your 4870 will handle any new games at 2560x1440. My 680 at that res playing BF3 I had to set everything to Med to get a smooth frame rate. I just ordered the new Dell IPS 27 inch 1920x1080 monitor because of that. Most good 27 inch monitors have the 2560x1440 res and for people like me with bad eye sight everything looks like your looking threw a microscope. And games well unless you have SLI or crossfire for new games you will be turning most graphics options off and running at MED settings. Now this is just me and I like a smooth 55-60 frames all the time and I could not get that with the 2560x1440 res.

Yeah I'm quite aware of that. I will consider an GPU upgrade in the near future but for the pure sake of real estate when not gaming that resolution would be immense!

Thanks for your input

Yes for movies videos etc it is awesome even games yes they would awesome also. Just remember if you have bad eye sight you will be doing alot of squinting to see anything text related. My eye sight is like left eye 20/400 and right eye 20/100 so for me I couldn't see anything at that high a res. Which is why the new Dell IPS 27 inch at 1920x1080 is a God sent....

I have bad eyesight at long range, but its from staring at a computer too much rolleyes.gif I don't think I'd have any problem with that resolution.

I'm probably getting one of these korean monitors redface.gif

Unless anyone can see any issues with this, I'm buying.

He's one of the good sellers. I was avoiding the tempered glass because of the dust risk.
