Bass Issue

Thread Starter
Hey all ...

I bought a new desk recently so that my new monitor fits a bit better (24") and I have noticed that the bass from my 5.2 is making my mouse go haywire ...

What would be the best way to insulate the mouse/mouse pad from the vibrations caused by the subs ?

All information would be greatly appreciated.
Regards

Well, put your subs in a better place. If it makes the desk move enough to upset your mouse, it wont sound good either.
Or add some sort of mass to the bottom of the desk to stop it from rattling?

I too also have this problem, so I am interested to hear what others have to say. 700w RMS right under my desk is definitely hard to tame. Mouse, keyboard, monitor, bookshelf speakers, soda cans....they all like to move around when at full blast. frown.gif And I'm not even talking about "light" equipment either. 30" monitors and large bookshelf speakers are honestly pretty heavy.

Only thing I've found is to turn it down. Perhaps layering the desk with some sound dampening material might help, but I'm not sure on that to be honest. It works in cars really well though.

Simple fix would be to decrease the bass a bit and just add more volume

I had to do that in my car ... 2x 750W RMS sub really has some punch ... haha ...

It's in my sig rig. It's an Alpine Type S 10" with a tuned ported enclosure at 32Hz. Not what I really want, but it was free so I can't complain. Powering it with my Pioneer old school receiver which is stable down to 2ohm per channel at 350w RMS per channel (I've tested this myself), and the sub is a DVC 2ohm sub....so essentially I have 700w RMS to play with. It does start smelling after a few minutes at full power....so I know it can't handle the full 700w. tongue.gif
