[TPU] Dell Readies the U2913WM 29-inch Monitor - Page 12

The aspect ratio makes it look really long and ugly, I hate it.

I don't care if other people like it and buy it so long as the aspect ratio 64:27 doesn't replace 16:9

Why rob users of 360 pixels of vertical space? It's like a poor man's 2560x1440.
Desktop monitors need more pixel density and vertical pixel space, not less.
For a 29 inch monitor, 1080p is definitely an automatic deal-breaker for me.

Then 2560x1440 is the poor man's 2560x1600.

Yeah, but at least the aspect ratio of 2560 x 1440 doesn't make the thing look like crap aesthetically. Not to the extent 2560 x 1080 does.

Well that can be argued, since aesthetics is purely a matter of opinion. Personally I don't like 16:9 either tongue.gif

27" monitors have their merits. They generally have slightly more even backlighting, they have a higher pixel density, and there are glossy models available (where none exist at 1600p).

Yeah I think I prefer 16:10 too, but they aren't really sold any more and I was on 1280 by 1024 for so long biggrin.gif IMO the optimum aspect ratio would be 15:10.

16:10 is still sold in all sizes. Just looking at Dell models alone you've got the U3011, U2412M, U2410, P2213, P1913, E2213, and E1913.
