Nvidia graphics card - Page 2

PSU is poo in them, my son has the one with the intel i3 2120.
I got him a HD6570 as its self powered through PCI-E slot itself and not plugged direct to PSU.

He can play some games at 1080P but most he has to drop down to 720P or he gets rubbish framerates.
If you could strecth to 7770 then that would be best bet, theres on on Ebay new for £86.

Done it again doh.gif
Im sorry, this is an Nvidia thread...i, i didnt read much did i? lol.

i know he said nvidia card but if you're going to buy an entry level card, amd cards are the best option. it only starts to get decent for nvidia when it gets to the gtx 660 and up.

I checked that card out but requires at least a 400w PSU. His only has a 300w. The 6670 looks ok along with the GT630. Both about the same price.

300w PSU? this thread is done. an HD7770 is the perfect card for that PSU. great performance, great price and hardly consumes power that is if you aren't sticking with nvidia though.

if you're insisting on going nvidia then just get the a GT630. anything is better than the iGPU on the i7 2600 but the hd7770 even though it's a tad expensive will slap that gt630 around with a large trout

Whats the difference between the 7750 and the 7770 except the price?

I'd recommend a used GTX460 if you can find one and want to stay with nVidia. Otherwise get the Radeon cards that the others have put up.

7770 has more TU's and SP's. It's more powerful. You can easily power either of them on a 300W psu. You should be set with either of the cards. They are both better than any of the GT series cards from Nvidia.

Honestly just stay away from any GT x10's x20's or x30's .. they are not meant for any sort of gaming. They are HTPC cards.

You keep mentioning 9 series graphic cards which are like a century old.. it seems like you don't mind buying used since you even bring those cards up. If that's the case shoot for a used GTX 460 or 6850.

these two cards esp if used will be much better for the money BUT i don't think a 300w PSU would be able to power these two babies up seeing the overall specs of the machine. go HD7770. your PSU would handle it 100% even with overclocks. not too sure with the two cards mentioned above
