PSU Recommendation

Hello there, I'm new to this forum, but been a lurker for awhile. I would like to know if my power supply is good enough for my system or if I should get a new one.
I have an Antech Earthwatts EA-500 500w power supply with 2 12v rails at 17amps. My system ran fine when I had a GTX 460 1gb, but when I upgraded to a MSI 7870 Hawk I ran into some issues, like Crysis crashing, and Windows hanging on shutdown. I've uninstalled and cleared the old Nvidia drivers with driver sweeper in safe mode, but I wonder if it is a psu issue instead. My system restarts and shuts down properly with the GTX 460 and Intel HD 3000 graphics.

If I had to get a new power supply one less than $100 is ideal, thanks.

Samsung 830 SSD

IM on my phone so I can't check prices but I use corsair and its amazing. If you have the extra cash get the AX if not you can get the HX series within your budget.

Your new VGA is less demanding (power wise) than your old one, I'd look somewhere else for the problem.

Thanks for the replies. After much troubleshooting, I found out that the problem was that I had multiple versions of Netframework installed, which caused Catalyst Control Center to not open properly and cause the hang on shutdown as well. I had to change the registry to use the latest version of Netframework.

I do plan on getting a new power supply in the near future, since I plan sell the Antec to a friend and get a modular psu. The Earthwatts doesn't have the best cable management and some connections are a tight squeeze in my Antec P182 case.
