By my research it performs better than a GTX280 and about the same as a GTX480, GTX570, or a new GTX660. Is this true or do I have some facts wrong. I know it does not have as many advanced features, but the price seems so good. Any feedback appreciated.
I've used (2) of this dual GPU 4870X2 in the past. If you're going to use only one of this card, don't expect to be able to play newer games at higher to max settings (COD:BO, BF3, etc.). Heat is your main problem with this card. Next is the noise from the stock fan. If you don't have a case with better air flow then it's a problem. This card runs faster & hotter than the 280, 480 or perhaps 570. I think the 660 is faster than this card.
I can almost max out MOH 2010 (Frosbite 1.5) but the card will get so hot & I'll start to lag. I can never run MW3, BO, Far Cry 2 on this card at higher setting without lagging in the game. I have to lower AA & other enhancement settings.
It's a good card but it's so outdated compared with today's cards. Among the cards you listed I would probably go with 660 if I were you. The 600 series runs cooler than this card.Edited by Cheaptrick - 9/25/12 at 3:12pm
