If you are going to spend 200 bucks get the HD 7870. I would recommend you to get XFX HD 7870 DD card for 215 bucks after mail in rebate . at stock speeds gets close to GTX 580. Overclocked to 1.2+ Ghz easily beats GTX 580 and matches HD 7950 at 900 Mhz.

I had issues with 4870's in crossfire in some games. Still a decent card. The issue is the heat and age of the card. You have a higher probability of the card dying on you because of the age and the fact that they ran hot. I don't want you getting a paper weight in a few months.

I would suggest getting a used GTX460. They are great cards. For a bit more, the 560Ti is a great choice. I would recommend that over the GTX480. I have 2 480's, 2 560Ti's and a 460. For the power, performance, the 560Ti is a great choice. You can find used ones for $140-150. I used my 480's because under water they are amazing.

Wow it does look like it is competing quite well with some of the big boys.

You will lag as it will heat up a lot if you play the latest games that's require your card's full graphic power. Your 700 watts PSU can run it without a problem. With it's $90 value, you rather save your money & buy a slightly better card but doesn't heat up that much.

You are incorrect. I ran a triple crossfire with 4870X2 and 4870 1GB and had NO issues whatsoever for the last 3 months. I started with a single 4870X2 and it was just fine. 45+ fps High settings with no AA in BF3. No lag, no stutter, no nothing.

If its not a problem then go for it.
Look into the OCN marketplace and grab a 460, last time I checked they were around 85-90 USD

I'm stilling using mine, they crossfire better than hd, 5,6,7 series and I don't have any driver issues and have test a good number of games, about 150 games. As to weather it's good deal i might imagine it's an alright deal. i think of it this way there is no card that is fast than 4850 that can be had for 50 bucks usd shipped which is what a used 4850 is worth. let alone a 4870 x2.

Sweet!! Look like I am going to pick it up tomorrow or the next day. I plan on taking some pictures and doing a quick Youtube video. I'll have to post the link if any one wants to take a look. The man I am buying it from is wiling to take another $10.00 off the price so I am really motivated now. $80.00 Canadian nice! Now I need to update my power supply any suggestions.

later on if you mobos supports crossfire you could tack on a 4850 or 4870 via crossfire and give your self another FPS boost.

I'd say it's not a bad deal..I'd try to get it for a little cheaper, though.
