New Sabertooth Build, No Post

Thread Starter
Thanks in advance for looking.

I just put together a new-ish build.

Sabertooth 990
Phenom 955
7950
G Skill Sniper

All the drives are unplugged and stand-offs are installed.

Fans start up, power led comes on, cpu led blinks and then goes off.

The dram LED is off.

I've cleared the cmos, tried no ram, one stick, and a different brand of ram.

I'll be re-seating the processor next.

Any suggestions?

Did you check that all your power cables are fully in?

also i really dont see a benefit as to reseating CPU. The CPU was designed to fit in sockets only one way (and ill assume u put it in the right way).

no beep = bad mobo, most of the time (assuming cpu is seated)

do your fans keep spinning or does it immediately power off after the leds blink off?

LEDS stay on but no beep without memory.

I am starting to think the mobo is DOA. I suppose that is what I get for buying open box.

i do system builds for a living, have 10+ years experience. you have a bad mobo, sorry frown.gif

its hard to accept its the mobo, but believe me, its as simple as the no beeps and the other symptoms you described seem to seal the deal.

DOA was my first thought as well after removing the ram.

Thanks for the advice everyone!
