If you are getting a HD 7950 the best options are Sapphire HD 7950 950 Mhz, Gigabyte HD 7950 Windforce, Sapphire HD 7950 Vapor-X. the gigabyte windforce probably has the best cooler and a 3 yr warranty. the sapphire HD 7950 vapor-x uses a reference HD 7970 PCB while the Sapphire HD 7950 Vapor-x uses a custom design HD 7970 PCB. the sapphire hd 7950 950 mhz product code is 11196-10-40G . here you can see the cards with pictures.

Ok vxc is probably part of the part number,he called me to tell me mvxc in my head would be a regular vapor-x cooler.supposedly is 330 $ something .was just trying to know what it actually is since i saw a 7950 for 280 last week .and i like the original full enclosure it just needed a way better fan .i saw this and design is way too open .heat will spread in the casing instead of the exaust port like original is.and at 384 bit you need gpu set at either 768 or 1152 and vram set to 1152 or 1536 .to prevent tearing .1152 and 1536 seam high for gpu and vram .

Do not buy the reference HD 7950 design. the cooler is very poor and the card can get very loud even with slight overclocking. also the HD 7950 does not have a true blower style cooler like the reference HD 7970. The blower style cooler has a cooler at the end of the PCB. The HD 7950 has a cooler at the centre so definitely hot air will be vented inside the case.

What CPU, PSU and case do you have. also are you in the US. the custom coolers like gigabyte windforce , sapphire dual x, his iceq are very good.

Dam!yilou just confirmed my fear about the stupid centering of single or dual fan on sapphire.heat go everywhere but out of the case .i LL need double of fan just to keep as cool as a 7970.the dude I buy from doesn't get the concept of air in AIR OUT.no wonder there is only a 6 % difference lol.is it hard to make a shroud.you would think it's obvious lol.saw the dual x and vapor x .hell no,I won't let heat spread in my antec 300 case.the fan isn't there to cool the gpu its just there to create a flow of air.thats why fan at the unscrewed end is so uber it gatter all heat and push it out.plastic shroud is one of the best stuff,it channel heat out.nothing else.ho well ty for info.the gpu is a vcx hd7950 (probably boost ,since it has 2 fan and can go to 925)

ANTEC 300 is a very good case with excellent cooling. You need not worry at all. Get the Sapphire HD 7950 950 mhz or Gigabyte HD 7950 Windforce. i have heard from users on these forums that some of the sapphireh hd 7950 vapor-x cards are voltage locked.
