I'm having a hard time deciding between these cases. I know they're very similar and fall under the "silent" category, but that just makes it more difficult choosing.

I prefer Fractal Design cases because they're really easy to work with, look awesome and the sound deadening is a high quality product not just a cheap rubbish foam.
It is also the shortest of the 3 (464mm) but it makes up for it in the width (232mm) which gives you plenty of space behind the motherboard (26mm) and clearance for tall heatsinks (170mm without side fan)
Completely removable hdd cages and built in fan controller are a bonus too.
Only thing about this case is that it only has 2x 5.25 bays so If you need more than 2 optical drives then you'd probably be better off getting either of the other 2 cases.

Ghost or R4, no doubt.
Only complaint I have about the R4 is that the window they ship it with is a total piece of garbage, so definitely non-windowed version is the way to go.

I would also like to know about the window problem you have. On the subject of the cases here is my opinion
550d
Sleak and attractive
Corsair build quality
Way to expensive
No fan controller
Bisexual door
Ghost
Love the radiator compartment in the top
The alchemy strips look good installed
The hot swap bay is great
Also has a bisexual door
Least expensive
R4
All 140mm fans!!!!!!!
Best sound dampening
Width allows for larger cooler/more cable management
Heavy short and wide
Different colors plus optional window
Cant fit top radiators (like an h100) without a little modification
The 550d is out of the equation for me. The ghost has a lot of cool features to try and win you over, but i think the r4 is the most versatile. You definately wont be disappointed. Of course aesthetics are personal. I found the r4 to look ugly at first but now i think it looks the best.

Quote:
This is a 'pro'?
Regarding the R4 window, it never seems to let go of its static no matter what I've done. Any bit of dust or fiber traveling through the case will completely stick to it. On top of that, it scratches super easy. It's a bit similar to the 600T window, but feels a little bit chintzier, if anyone can relate to that.
Definitely replacing it with a piece of acrylic.

I love the Corsair products I buy. I feel their brand recognition is starting to cloud people's judgement though. Not all Corsair products are high in build quality, and most of their cases are definitely lower than a bunch of other companies out there. Not talking about the 800D/700D, of course.
I wish people would love hardware instead of hardware BRANDS as much as they do.

well my only hands on experience is with a 650d. I assume its the same. obsidian series is definitely good quality. and you are right on the brand recognition clouding judgement. I was originally going to buy a 550d for silence just because it was corsair, then i found there are much better options. I still love my ax850 and dominator platinums. the cables included with the psu are all black and fully modular which i love.
