yes but any 140mm fan specially if its used by a radiator is sufficient for eliminate totally the hot air, now you can find it ok but in summer the difference is evident.

the top holes is absolutly necessary in an modern hight end / mainstream platform.
the holes are there to be used.

If people wanted a multi-gpu, watercooled system, they would buy a suitable case, not a silence-orientated one. This is like complaining that a HAF has too much open mesh panels - it's not designed to be silent anyway.

I see nothing to support that, there are plenty of people in the Lian Li/Lancool threads with the new PC-K9 who have mainstream parts and I haven't seen any problems with them. The PC-K9 doesn't have any top fans.

why do you buy an HAF X when the R4 is so great whit its top holes uncovered ?

Why would I buy a HAF X? That's a pretty good question, I think the answer is because of mental impairment

I too am looking for a nice quiet case for a new build. The R4 looks really nice and has a decent price, but for me the top mounted usb and power buttons are a no go. I do use the usb ports for my camera and sticks, so having them stick straight up in the air makes them very susceptible to being broken off if someone or something gets near them.

This makes no sense to me. So your saying that you would rather have them sticking out of the front instead of the top, so people walking by won't mistakenly knock into them? I'm confused about something. Wouldn't you think that it's safer this way, with them sticking up instead of straight out.

I have the Corsair 550D. And I can tell you that I have broken my front USB ports twice. The flash drive was sticking out and like an idiot I walked by it not seeing it and basically tripped over it and torn and bent the USB port. I wish it would have been up rather then out for the USB port....

And this.

Front would be far more easy to break off then top mounted

If NZXT is available in your area I would wait 2 weeks and buy the H630.

The 550D is nice but the price has been creeping up since launch and its not really a great buy anymore the H630 has a lot more room and is similarly priced.

I voted for the R4.

I recently built a silent-oriented rig for my friend using the R4 and it really was a pleasure working with that case. It has everything you would really want function-wise and the sound pads/foam help lower noise (especially the top ones). It supports many of the large air coolers and has A LOT of space behind the motherboard tray for cable management. Build quality was nice all around, though there was a spot on the front panel/door that was missing paint or was stained orange (shame on you QC).

However if you were to go with watercooling, I would probably lean towards the Ghost. The main problem I see with the Ghost is that there is not much room behind the motherboard tray for cable management, so it takes some creative means to get all your power cables organized.
