I would never have the nerve to use a metal spoon on my computer parts. I would never be able to do this delid in the first place, though; I have really shaky hands when I am dealing with expensive computer parts. Changing my GPU cooler was hard enough; I almost hit the PCB with a screw driver a couple times.
