Last minute insulation shopping list, for LN2 event, please help :D

Hey OCN, I'm attending the michigan over clockers event, and I have hardware, but no insulation... I'm looking for a list of things I need to look for and pick up (locally if possible) before I attend the meet. I have a marksman pot, I need to insulate, as well as a few 775 MoBos.

Things I think I want/need to pickup:
vaseline
kneadable eraser (if I can find it)
painter's tape
die electric grease (liquid electrical tape)
rice (for the gear I kill)
shop towels
large pads of insulation (frostking?) (no idea where to look for/obtain this stuff)

Please list any other stuff that I should pickup biggrin.gif Also any Canadians with where to pick this stuff up, please let me know biggrin.gif

I'll be bringing my eraser and dragon skin just to ensure I have everything I need on hand. My boards are insulated so you are more than welcome to use my stuff if you get stuck.

LET - Canadian Tire (Marine Section)

As far as thermoses go for pouring, does a $6 vacuum insulated thermos work as good as a $30 Thermos branded version? The only difference I can see physically is that the handles on the $6 are useless and will break. tongue.gif

the roll of frostking wrap works great too... just peel the foil off of it.. and good to go! Easy to wrap 2-3 times on your pots and thin enough to use right on PCB for mobo or GPU's too ;)

 

**Seen wumpus buy a 3-4" pipe sleeve and cut it down the middle to use it as a foam back for the mobo and backplate.. pretty good idea too and cheap.

 

 As for thermos.. just as long as its a vacuum insulated .. you should be good. If you buy more than one though.. get different sizes.. you will have one that ends up being a favorite and the others you just use to fill nerdsmiley.png

It's two 500ml and two 750ml thermoses.  The 500ml ones are a little small, but they work well for slim gpu pots.

I use FrostKing for foam insulation, found it at Home Depot in the heating/cooling section. Peel the tinfoil off the back if you want to layer it, since the sticky on the other side sticks so well to the foam its almost impossible to remove. I also use it on the back of the motherboard under the pot backplate. Wasn't very cheap for the roll as I remember, $20 or so, but its lastest me more than a year.
