Which Mountain Mod or other cube case?

Thread Starter
I've been eyeing up the U2 UFO for a few weeks now but can't decide between regular or extended. Also starting to look at the Ascension in original and extended. Anyone that has or has had one of these fine boxes please chime in with any positive or negative opinions biggrin.gif

Any other cubes worth looking at and why?

U2UFO is probably the only cube case out there that I would consider buying. The others are all way too big. U2UFO has plenty of room for even ridiculous builds without doubling as a desk.

I had a U2 UFO and at the time I thought it was pretty cool, but they can be a bit of a pain to setup with cable management. The HDD holders are a joke and the motherboard tray is a little weak. I'd stick with the UFO though because it will feel more solid than the bigger cases. Since then Case Labs has come along and they are on a whole different level as far as build quality goes.I have their M10 and couldn't be happier with it. Personally I'd never go back to MM.

You can check them out on their forum here on OCN or their store If you are willing to consider something different than MM I would give them a look. thumb.gif

Was there anything besides cable management and the HDD bay you didn't like?

I'll probably add some more aluminum to the frame and an HDD cage and angle aluminum under the horizontal MB tray similar to the H1. So those problems don't really affect me.

I've been spoiled with a with a horizontal MB tray in my last two cases and don't see the point in going back. I also don't like the chambered design of the Case Labs products.

CPU and GPU loops with three 360 rads. I'm really just looking for a case with plenty of room, this will be my case for the next few years.

I looked at everything around and pondered the question just like you are but when I looked at the build quality and flexibility of the Case Labs cases, I knew that was the way for me to go.
I have no regrets at all. Very well made, no screw heads showing off like they are the main attraction, configure it like you want, easy cable routing, easy fan placement.

If you are into water cooling it is especially nice but also for air cooled because of the choice of air flow patterns.

I think it is "the best."
If they have a size that meets your needs, I suggest you take a good look at it.

I do not work for the company and have no affiliation other than being a very pleased customer.

After looking around a bit more and talking myself out of the horizontal motherboard tray I've decided to go with a Case Labs MH10. Should be ordering this week thumb.gif

Thanks for the opinions everyone.
