[Newegg] ACER 235GDHZ (120Hz) $199 NEW - Page 4

Just because you don't notice the input lag or see the overdrive artifacts doesn't mean that it isn't there. Stuff like that is why I'm very skeptical of most user opinions.

I'll take a 60hz display with no input lag over a 120hz display with input lag any day.

If you're happy with the display that is fine but I'm making potential buyers aware of the issues that they can research on their own.

I dunno man. I spent a whole day on that screen and it looks just as good dead-on as my older IPS FPWs. If it looked like shart I wouldn't use it. The other thing is, you're bordering on trolling now. You're telling us we don't know what the five we're looking at, etc. I can't see what you're seeing so I can only take your word for it. You'll have to respect my pov as well.

I don't notice it because it's not on my monitor. I understand that there are bad batches, there are always bad batches when it comes to tech due to manufacturing defects.

If you would take a 60hz over this monitor, then okay... go for it, I'm not a marketing agent for Acer by any means, but I am highly annoyed that YOU keep coming into this thread bashing the monitor. We get it dude, you don't like the monitor. Move on, stop sitting here and bashing on a monitor when there are satisfied customers of this monitor and have noticed NONE of the problems you've said.

Maybe it was a problem that occured in the first couple batches of monitors and Acer have addressed those problems and its not in the newer ones. Who knows? But stop sitting in here bashing the monitor, if you don't like it, then move on.

Potential buyers can read reviews and take your consideration, but it doesn't help the fact that YOU sit in here and continue to bash the monitor to prevent any potential customers from buying it especially when this DEAL is expired and no longer for that price. So why are you here continuing to bash? Do you have a personal vendetta against this monitor or something? Because it totally looks like you do.

When I bought this monitor a year ago, I read reviews and saw complaints just like yours-- I ignored it and took the risk. When I received the monitor, I didn't notice any of the problems indicated. In the long run, I think the risk was definitely worth it because I don't notice any of those problems. If anything, a person can return the monitor back to Newegg if they really want to as they have really good return policies. $199.99 was a steal for this monitor, the deal is gone. Stop bumping this thread and bashing. Done, move on bro.

I recommended and talked my brother in-law to buy this and it worked for less then 12hours and broke. Looks like the inverter went out . POS

Wont recommend acer 120hz ever again. Period

Short version, seemed great price at the newegg 199 but it was crap monitor and i look like an idiot for recommending it

The input lag is there. You just don't notice it.

I also haven't heard of any firmware revisions to alleviate the overdrive artifacts. People can research these issues on their own. I would have avoided the Benq 2410t until I got confirmation that its firmware issues were resolved.

Yes, actually. I've used quite a few displays over the years and this one might be the worst. I fell for the whole "120hz goodness" without doing any research on this display. I didn't keep it long.

Move on dude. There are satisfied customers with this monitor including myself, we get it, you don't like the monitor.
I personally can't say anything about the 3D Vision because I bought the monitor for 120Hz and can care less about the 3D.

Only on Overclock will a guy get yelled at for simply stating known issues with a product to try and help customers make an informed decision.

Also, could it be that you got a good batch, not that he got a bad one? We get that you own the monitor and it works great for you, that's awesome. Unfortunately, not everyone has had that same experience.

I don't care that he comes in the thread and states his opinion. That's fine, but constantly coming in here to turn down other people from buying it when people can read his original post is annoying and obnoxious. You don't see me constantly coming in here and praising how awesome it is, I simply stated a deal.

The deal is LONG past over and yet he continues to come in here to bash the monitor. A moderator should just close this thread as the deal is over and not a discussion on the monitor itself.

This. If I was interested in purchasing this model, I would be much more interested in those users who have had a problem than those who had it function as advertised out of the box. I expect the latter, but I want to know about the former.

There's a balance somewhere between the two. PPL who have problems scream louder than those that don't. I told him I don't have any problems with the panel, but referring to another user, he tells them they don't know what they're looking at and that his panel is still junk. That's not helping, that's trolling.

So you're saying that the display doesn't have input lag? I'm just saying that just because you don't notice it doen't mean that it isn't there.

I remember a couple of threads in the hot deals section on Hardforum of an HP LP2465 refurb. Its an older S-PVA display. It was a pretty popular deal. Very few people actually noticed the input lag which was pretty bad. One other thing that comes to mind is how few people notice the blatant gamebyro stutter in Oblivion, Fallout 3, and New Vegas. Stuff like that is why I'm hesitant to listen to peoples opinions when it comes to stuff like this. If you can post some accurate measurements saying that the input lag on the display is minimal or a link about a firmware revision saying that some of the issues that you can read about in reviews of this display are taken care of then I'll take what I have said back.

You've got to remember this isn't a thread for owners of this display in the monitors section. I wouldn't make these sort of posts there. This is a thread in the deals section for prospective buyers.

Instead of saying "there is no issue" a more helpful response would be to mention when you bought display and maybe we'll see a pattern. Maybe the overdrive artifacts are taken care of. Still thats a quick fix. Its not like you need overdrive if you aren't using 3d vision.

I would be shocked if the input lag was taken care of. Its not awful, but its there. The contrast was still poor, you can see that from any review.
