Can someone explain how I can overclock my CPU AMD 1600 mhz !!!
Almost everything you ever wanted to know about overclocking.

If you still have questions AFTER reading that, let us know. Also, find out which AMD XP processor core your chip is here. Yours will either be a palomino, thoroughbred A, or thoroughbred B. Palominos don't overclock well at all. Might get 200mhz if your lucky, lol.

WARNING: Because your motherboard is a 266mhz chipset, it only has a 1/4 CPU/PCI frequency divider. This means at the moment your PCI bus is at 42.5mhz... WAY TOO HIGH. If you continue running your system at that FSB, the data on your HDD will become corrupt and you'll have to reinstall everything and lose any data that isn't backed up. Do not let your PCI bus speed get over around 38mhz. Your PCI bus speed = FSB x 1/4.

Running at 170mhz FSB w/ PC2100 (133mhz stock) memory tells me you might still have some mhz left in your CPU. After you lower your FSB so your PCI bus isn't at a dangerous level, I would increase your multiplier as much as you stabily can. 170mhz is a very nice overclock for 133mhz RAM. But if you wanna run at over 150mhz FSB you need a new mobo.
