[3DPrintingIndustry] Billed as the first truly high-resolution, low-cost 3D printer for design... - Page 6

our university has a pretty nice 3D printer that uses powder and binder. The printing area is about 12 *12 inches and does colours too.
We've created functional bearings for fun but most importantly we're creating structural models for proteins, drugs, and chemicals for visual and tactile representations for use in class. (i'll get some photos if someone's interested) Only bad thing of this printer is that it's much more fragile compared to PVC and needs to be manually waxed to make it shiny. biggrin.gif
personally i'd get reprap and make fan grills out of clear plastic.

I think it has more to do with the stereo-lithography. The Printer in the OP can do 25 micron layers and the one you linked can "only" go down to 100.

Plus the resin it uses might be more durable...not sure on that yet.
