AMD Catalyst 12.9 (9.001 September 13) Official BETA - Page 3

Drivers is not bad, but it haves major flaw in my case.

Second card keeps downlocking to 450 MHz in games which causes stuttering.

This is intriguing. The card shouldn't downclock in games because it should be under a constant 3D clock load. Can you describe your install process and/or how you setup your overclock, how you monitored the downclocking?

I have the same problem but im single gpu user. In games gpu core lock slowdown to 450MHz and it is not stable and i think this is something about 7800 series.

Don't use ATIMAN!!
I never use a 3rd party to do drivers, and I can swap drivers w/o issue. I think this week alone I've swapped from rc11 to 12.9 beta Aug 9, Sept 4, Sept 15, and 12.9 official beta and back, and around again. That's probably 11-12 driver changes. All without ATIMAN!!!!!!
No flicker here.
I have to lol at my tone, but those damn 3rd party apps for the lazy.

Well from my experience when ever I have had a problem in the past using ATiman's uninstaller has resolved that problem with ease.

I always try upgrading a driver without it first and if I have problem then I will try ATiman.

You might give 12.7 beta a try. It was recommended to me by someone who was experiencing the same-type slowdown problem.

I use ATiman and it works great. I don't know why anyone would take issue with using it.

MSI AB for overclocking and MSI OSD for monitoring, ULPS disabled.
Driver Fusion in save for driver remains.

With 12.7 beta, everything is ok, i am now on new OS, and i still didnt installed new drivers, so i am tempting which to install, 12.9 beta or 12.7 beta.

12.8 is out of question, becuase i want to play metro 2033 these days again, and they BSOD in metro.biggrin.gif

What i found interesting that sometimes i am able to eliminate downlocking if i dont touch second GPU Vcore, which is very, very strange.
@F@ruk
Looks like all downlocking, GSODs problems are related to 78xx series only, that is very big hit to HD 78xx users.

Ah, I see. I've read about this but didn't look further into it since I don't have any 78xx cards. You guys should open a case with AMD, and get everyone affected involved. Perhaps the AMD rep here in this thread could get involved??

I already did both(opened case with AMD, and contacted AMD REP), bot no help, which is sad, very sad.

Good luck. You should go in that thread and quote the rep, get some direct feedback. I will pray for you to the god of GPUs. thumb.gif
