32-40 TV as Monitor

Thread Starter
So I currently have one of the LG IPS 1440p monitors off ebay and its pretty great. I have a second gaming setup and was thinking about getting a 32-40 inch LCD 1080P TV as a monitor. Im not to concerned with input lag as a I don't play shooters. Mostly looking for the immersion factor, really want to get sucked into the game when I am playing. What would be a good viewing distance? Are the pixels going to look totally huge from 3-4 feet away? Any Pro's and Con's that people have experienced or can think of I would appreciate.

Thanks!

I tried it once with a large LCD TV, forgot the exact dimensions, had it at a regular distance as one would any monitor. After about 15 minutes I started getting pretty bad nausea, and I had to switch it back. Something about sitting that close just really messed with my head, and I'm not really someone that has problems with motion sickness or anything. I tried TF2 and I think Dirt2 on it, both had the same effect. In terms of visuals it wasn't bad, Dirt2 especially looked pretty good, I imagine someone with a sim setup like a racing wheel could get a kick out of it.
