help needed: 3DMark11 won't launch

Thread Starter 
So all of a sudden my 3DMark11 (purchased full version) won't launch. I double click it, get the busy wheel for about a sec, and then nothing happens. If I watch the Task Manager it loads the process for a split sec, then disappears.

I've tried the following:

1. rebooting
2. uninstall / reinstall 3DMark11
3. Running 3DMark11 as Administrator
4. Uninstall .NET framework and Profile and 3DMark11, then reinstall 3DMark11
5. Ramping down overclock

Is something corrupt? Why won't it start? I've tried Googling and haven't found any solutions. There are no error messages. Nothing happens.

Major reps for anyone who can help me figure this out.

Try updating futuremark systeminfo http://www.futuremark.com/support/downloads , sounds like it's getting stuck trying to scan. You can also uncheck 'scan systeminfo' in the help tab of 3d11 to make it run, although it's much nicer when it just works...

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Futuremark Systeminfo. It did not work. I can't uncheck 'scan systeminfo' in the help tab of 3D11 because I can't start 3D11. I mean that the entire program will not open at all. When I double click on the .exe, it starts for a couple of seconds (can see it in Task Manager) and then goes away. frown.gif

You can also try reinstalling/updating .net framework, & shutting down any progs in the background that you might have running. If all else fails, reset the system to stock & see if it works then.

Am I going to have to reformat? Hopefully someone else has some ideas...

Generally problem you described is related with system info so if you did not do this, helped me before.
-Restart computer
-uninstall 3d mark completely
-Restart computer
-clean junk with CCleaner
-install latest 3dmark again
-install latest system info
-run it

if that does not help uninstall your graphic drivers and reinstall it again and don't forget to clean obsolete files in safe mode with driver sweeper or (I prefer) Driver Cleaner.NET. before you install new ones.

If you use Lucid Virtu: Turn off Virtual Sync if that doesn't work and try launching. Turn off hyperformance if that doesn't work. If still no luck, Unselect 3DMark in Lucid Virtu applications.

I brought up Lucid because it interferes with some programs starting. Have you installed anything else that could have features interfering with program start-up? Try starting 3DMark in safe mode to see if it's a software conflict issue.
