Hello guys,

I have a I7-920@4ghz with a 7970@1200/1500, I would like to buy a card for PhysX but I don't know if buy a 640 or a 650!?

Good points of the 640 are: 65w, no addizional pin, I found a version fanless (I have all liquid cooled).

Good points of the 650: GDDR5 and bigger memory bandwidch

Your opinion? Any advise?

I would advise you to go for a more powerful PhysX card like GTX 460 or GTX 560 , maybe used if you want to get it for less than 100 bucks

Is it needed so powerful just for PhysX?

650 has alteady 384 cuda Cores and a not so bad as bandwidch, I thought it could be enough!?

Im having a hell of a time getting my physx to work with my 7870/640...... If i ever get it running I was going to do some benchmarks with it, if I ever get it working

I would go with the GTX 460. BL2 devs did not specify a PhysX card needed for their game. But Batman AC devs specified a GTX 460 or higher with high Physx. Batman AC Physx are amazing also!

if it's for borderlands 2 the 690 might oddly enough be the best recommendation. I tried with my 9800 gtx+ and dropping to 0% load on a 7970 makes head shots pretty tough. I would go no less than 460 / 550 ti / 650 in each of their respected families. The last thing you want to do is get a card that can't fill the bill and will end up sitting on your desk holding your coffee mug.
