I bought the same one (for my picky Spawn with the low LOD firmware). It's so smooth it makes my QCK feel like sandpaper, still the Stealth is very very thick, which I don't find ideal but very comfortable.

Not necesarily, I think most low sens players chose cloth because they would just eat the skates in no time in other surfaces due to the long distances they travel in a 180 degree turn.
I use pretty high sens and I like cloth because hard pads are too slippery for fine movements.

Not really, no.

In fact, most people who plays on hard surfaces uses high sensitivity, that's why most rigid pads don't come in XXL sizes, and most people on cloth pads play on mid-low sensitivity, hence why you have cloth pads of around 1 meter width.

Also, pretty much every mouse should track better on an optimized hard mousepad (some mice won't work with some pads, but that's true for both kinds), rather than cloth, because hard materials can be moulded to be the exact shape/colours to give best tracking, and they don't deform (compress) when in use, whereas with cloth you're usually dependant on the weave thickness, material fraying or the cover, apart from the compression from the weight on it.

@OP :

What's your maximum swipe speed when playing?

If it's over 2.5m/s, don't take the Scarab, every infrared mouse gets lower PCS on this pad (or any white/shiny pad for that matter), and try not to get any steel mousepad (like the SS SX).

Try to get a black mousepad, whether it's cloth or hard.

I've ordered a Mionix Propus 380, once I've tested it with the Savu I'll let you know.

So far it worked great with all hard mousepads I tried it with (minus Scarab and SX, where it reaches lower tracking speeds) :
- Zowie Swift
- SteelSeries 9HD
- Razer eXactMat
- Razer Destructor

The puretrak site lists it as being pretty thin.

Hm... I haven't tried the Talent.
I was comparing my Stealth to my earlier standard QCK, which is thinner.

By the way, why would you want a stealth with the thickness, its just a plain black smaller version...

PD: I tried the TTesports White-Ra and it's as smooth as the puretracks but seems to give more control through some kind of texture waving. Might suit you if you find the puretrack too slippery.

Just got my new Roccat Savu today, the size and weight of it is just right. So happy I finally found a mouse like this.
Plugged it in and it wouldn't move at all, right clicked, a menu popped up, so the buttons worked. Moved it to table outside of mat, here it moved. ***!!!
The Steelseries 4D have 2 different sides, a very smooth and a little coarser. The mouse doesn't move at all on my favorite side, the smooth one, it barely moves on the coarser side.
I can't believe it, now I have to go get a new mat.
Can anyone of you, that have this mouse, recommend a very smooth mousemat, as smooth as possible.
A post in this thread mentions optical mouse (like the Savu) works best with cloth, don't they work with hard mats? Can a cloth mat be as smooth as a hard?
