Is My PSU Dead?

Dear readers,

I was just playing BF3 with a friend on my new system which is roughly 1 month old, when it suddenly shut down.

I can't turn the system on anymore, but I can see power running through the motherboard. If I hit the start button I can hear a "click sound" from the PSU, nothing else happens.

If I use a PSU Power Starter on the 24-pin motherboard cable, which I used to fill the system, it doesn't start either.

The system consists of:
Case: Cooler Master Cosmos II
Motherboard: Asus Rampage IV Formula
CPU: Intel Sandy Bridge-E 3930K @4.5GHz
CPU Swiftech Apogee HD Black
PSU: Seasonic 1000watt Platinum
GPU: 2x eVGA GTX680 (2-Way SLi)
GPU Cooling: EK - FC680 GTX - Acetal CSQ
SSD: 2x OCZ Vertex 4 256GB
Storage: WD 64Mb Cache 1.0TB HDD 7200rpm
Ram: 4x4 Corsair Dominator-GT 2133hz Cl9
Monitor: BenQ XL2410T 120hz 24" Monitor & Samsung SyncMaster P2450H 24" FULL HD
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 [Full Version]

Thanks a lot in advance!! :/

if using the psu jumper/starter thingy doesnt work, you likely have a dead psu smile.gif

try it without the tool by connecting the green wire to any black wire manualy, also make sure that every single plug is disengaged.

Thank you. I'm quite sure it's dead too.

I've now tried another PSU for my system and with the same result.
That said, I've noticed when I pull out the CPU power cable then the system starts, of course without the CPU, but I can get everything else to start.

What can it be?
