2560 x 1440+ Wallpapers on Catleap?

Hey. I know if I stretch a small picture to fit the Catleap, quality suffers. What if I set a picture larger than 2560 to fit onto the desktop as wallpaper? Will quality degrade as well? My guess is yes. biggrin.gif

No, scaling down does not effect the quality in my eyes.

It may appear squashed if the aspect ratio is different from 16:9 though.

I don't know if you already know but alphacoders is a great site for quality wallpapers and you can search via resolution.

Ok, please clarify:

Using an image that is way smaller than 1440 and using it as "fit to desktop" won't degrade the image quality??

I have several 2560 x 1600 wallpapers, it's bound to screw something up.

Check at this site: http://wallbase.cc/search

Can search by res and they have sooo many good 1440p wallpapers.

Dcode meant that Downscaling an image (lets say 5020x2880) to 2560x1440 isn't going to affect the quality for the most part (unless the aspect ratio is different as the image will be stretched or squished to match your resolutions aspect ratio), upscaling an image thats smaller resolution will obviously have a negative effect on quality.

Ok. What I will do is set everything to center. Larger, even out of aspect photos will still be showing at max quality, although the whole image may be cut off. I'll check out the sites in a minute. Thanks!
