service center helped me install software and moved my mouse !!!!!

Thread Starter
Hi there ,

I recently hit a snag at some site and had to install keyboard protection software , I couldn't get it to work so
i called the service center number. There was a woman on the other end, she wanted to send me the software to
my email , but could send only to certain type of email, i'm being in Korea , they are strange like that.
Anyway she asked me "shall I install it for you? " So i thought huh ? you can do that ?
I said go ahead, and she directed me to a website, which was their service number plus .com

I went in there and clicked on one of the service number slots , and she grabbed hold of my mouse controls and was controlling
my computer from that point. HOLY CRAP I thought , she was able to go into the folder and delete the old keyboard protection file and
install the new one , and she fixed the problem in a jiff. It freaked my out though , i had no incline that i was granting her access like that.

What I want to know is , how can I do this myself , I'd love to know how I can do this as well.
I have to help out my sister with installing and fixing stuff for her when I am not there, she's in another country
Is the software that can do this kind of operation ?

If you could give insight ,

Thank so much

Ralph

I would recommend http://www.join.me. It's really as easy as it gets to do a remote session with another user.

The person goes to the website, get's a remote session code, downloads the program, gives you the code, you type it into the box and you can remotely control their machine from your web browser.

Another recommendation for Teamviewer from me, I use it to fix up issues on my Grandparents PC in Spain. Much easier than trying to explain things over the phone.

Teamviwer and the logmein free versions work wonders even if you're separated by continents. Just make sure that the target computer is not on dial up though because that will be quite a headache. biggrin.gif
