Help me decide on a monitor!

Hi guys I got my computer set and ready to go, now a good monitor is needed to unlock the full potential.
Now the question being IPS or 120 hz, I'm going for 1080 most probably since there isnt a 1600p at 23-24inch i guess.
In any case I'm looking for a 23-24 inch monitor with low response time since I do competetive play and low input lag.
Any suggestions? Also say why you prefer your chosen monitor please or why you picked it.

Considering that you said you want good response times and low input lag for competitive play, you should probably go with a 120hz monitor. IPS is a good panel type but not spectacular, a 120hz monitor will be nicer for you considering your situation and size preference.

The asus VG236HE is a good choice for a decent and fast 120hz monitor, doesn't have the input lag of the (otherwise great) samsung s23a700d nor the ghosting and mediocre quality of the benq XL2420t. (which are the other two understandable choices in the 23-24" 120hz sector depending on what you're looking for, the rest are mostly worse)

Looking good! Are there any screens that rival this screen for the terms that I need it for ? If so please name them so I look them up and try to make a conclusion.

Aside from the 3 I listed, not in the 23"/24" section. If you're willing to look at 27" models, there's the VG278HE (with the advantage of being 144hz), which is also decent, but it often has noticeable blacklight bleeding compared to other models.

Ya, the VG278HE has BLB problems. Can't beat 150 Hz though (what I have mine set running at) for FPS gaming. It's the closest a LCD has ever gotten to a CRT.

Right, for now I'll settle with the asus VG236HE , does this have good quality and other specifics about this monitor superior than other monitors of the 23/24 inch category. If anyone disagrees or you can suggest me a better one please do. If not I will order this screen monday. I will only use 1 screen by the way in case anyone wonders. Also a friend of mine has the Asus VE248H how about this one? Is this a good one aswell? Wich of the 2 is better?
Owh Asus VH236H seems to be a good monitor too hmm, it has good ratings.

xl2420t has pivot stand, so if you buy down the road another 2 you can make 3x1 portrait

best
