Updating rig, what would YOU buy?

Thread Starter
Hi,

Since Im obviously going to end up with stuff that doesnt actually matter if I trusted myself enough to actually buy hardware on my own, Im asking the professionals for help wink.gif.

My rig is:

Define R3
Intel I5-2500K
EVGA GTX670 FTW
Intel 330 128gb SSD
WD 1TB 7200RPM

And the rest is in the sig.

And Ideas? Theres running a limited time offer on one of Swedens hardware companies atm, 15% discount (on top of whatever normal discount they have) but only for the first 1000 customers.

I can't see what else you have in your signature. But your build looks perfectly fine to me. Are you playing on a single 1080p monitor? If I were you, I'd get a second monitor, just for giggles. Or put the whole thing in custom loop. Maybe change out some case fans for more quiet ones.

tbh your system looks fine.
if you want to buy a new psu, i'd either get a bequiet straight Straight Power E9 CM 480 CM, if you plan on gertting a second VGA Card maybe the CM690
if you want something a littl emore high end and spend a bit more:
Seasonic X-560 or X-760 for sli.

The case is completely a matter of taste tbh. Maybe you like the the new Bitfenix Ghost? If you are into a good priced Big Tower the Shinobi XL is very good.
Personally i'm a Lian Li guy wink.gif The new V700WX is pretty awesome:

fans: definitely bequiet silent wings 2 and maybe the Dark Rock Pro 2 CPU cooler, if you like the looks.

Everything in your rig looks perfectly fine. I wouldn't change anything just for the sake of changing it. Unless you need extra CPU power for something, nothing needs to be touched.

that board has been known to boot loop also memory is Bios is shacky.

The UD3 is a decent board. I don't see anything you could change really. Everything is top notch for a gaming system Only thing I would potentially change would be to grab a fulltower case.

If I had the opportunity for 15% off, I would definitely get a new processor, since processor prices never get near a 15% discount.
