Need help. LCD LED TV or LCD LED Monitor?

Ok guys here is the situation, my wife is pregnate and I am setting up a Netflix media setup on the bed room for evening show watching. So, it going to have a PS3 running the programs and later on we might not need the TV/Monitor on the bed room. We will use it as a desktop display. The question is this;

Does a 24" LCD LED TV compare to a 24" LCD LED Monitor work for a desktop monitor after using it on the bed room?

I notice I can grab TV from size 24 to 32 cheap compare to a monitor. Also one pro that TV has come with remote control for volume adjustment which is nice since I have to get up to adjust the speaker and these movies/show have weird up and down volumes. Also TV come with build in speakers which is nice and don't require weird setup like I have to run the monitor PC of the PS3. biggrin.gif Can we say conversion, to conversion, to conversion? wheee.gif

Honestly in my opinion if you are going to do a tv/monitor. Grab a bigger one and get the 120Hz one. As they have the 1920x1080 input and has the game mode to do the games for it. That way you can game and she can watch netflix. If you have the room grab a 42" or something bigger then a 24" is just too small. And since you are going to use a PS3 you will use wireless and can sit back and enjoy the larger display. As lcd/led/plasma tv's have now gotten on the cheap side. Don't cheat yourself treat yourself. Your wife will thank you and you'll thank yourself also int he end. Thanks

Good info however the cost not only go way up but also having a screen in your pc desk being 3-4 feet away form it as that size will hurt. Remember the setup is temporary then is going back to the pc desk.

I am looking at this here.

I would get a TV and just go for a 42" or something. Like the other said, there is usually a game mode on those TV. But get the 120Hz. That's what I would do tongue.gif

Then a 24" TV would be fine, if you want it to do both easy and connect other stuff.

Ok cool, I read somewhere the best LED TV to get and use as a monitor is one with IPS? They said normally tv that can do 178 view angle are IPS but if the tv don't display that how can I tell if a TV is an IPS?

I found LG 24MA32D LED HDTV that has 5mil Ratio to 1. Not bad for a TV.
