need a new keyboard, what are the ones that like the pro koreans starcraft players use? nothing fancy just like the standard most responsive keyboard

Many used to use some cheap PS2 qsen rubber dome keyboard or whatever. So if you want something comparable, look for any 10$ PS2 keyboard that you think feels right.

However, I see that more and more are using a mechanical keyboard and those all have a "fancy" price tag compared to those rubber dome keyboards.

Edit: the rubber dome many used was the Qsen DT-35.

Most Starcraft pros use some sort of Mech with Red switches. Depends on their sponsor

The story with that one is it was just the absolute cheapest keyboard available at the stores.

I'd generally recommend the sidewinder x4. Otherwise just go with a cheap generic rosewill or something from newegg.

[edit] Mechs feel nicer and are generally better built then 'normal' keyboard, but cost more to go with it. There is no actual performance gain from them.

You actually do feel a difference when gaming it just doesnt make you a better gamer.

For extremely high level RTS, key speed is all that matters, so I can see some of the top koreans using reds. That said, reds don't have tactile feedback on actuation, so while they're slightly quicker, they're really not ideal for gaming.

Blues are not good for gaming. I have a Filco blue board, and double tapping (dodge jumping in Unreal Tournament, etc) is not ideal due to the release and actuation point being at different heights on this switch.

I'd say, cherry browns. As for the keyboard itself, I'd personally choose a well build keyboard with no gimmicky features, like a Filco/Leopold cherry brown board. Of there is now a huge list of gaming companies that have jumped on the mech KB bandwagon, and at the end of the day it's the switch that really matters.

Reds or blacks are recommended for gaming.

But it will not make you a better gamer. Buy what you want, it's still bound to your skills

Picked these up for my TRON Legacy theme build. Got the optional light bar upgrade kit(s). Note, for a quad channel package you will need two light bar kits as each covers two sticks. No issues...
