Pad modding a intel Pentium D 945 question

Thread Starter
Hey all! I was wanting to do the pad mod on my Presler Pentium D 945 processor. I been reading up on this and want to present two links to you guys:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?131894-Need-Confirmation-on-BSEL-pad-mod-for-e4300
and also
http://www.overclockers.com/intel-lga775-pad-modding/

Now, this links are for core2duos I believe. So my question was, can this same mod be applied to the Pentium D? If you need more info my setup follows
Intel Pentium D 945 @ 3.40Ghz
Intel D975XBX motherboard
4GB (4x1gb) 667Mhz Corsair RAM
Two Radeon HD 4850's in a crossfire setup
A 750watt thermaltake PSU

I do plan on upgrading in the near future to a core2quad q6600, but for fun this weekend I wanted to try this, I figure if I break the processor I can get another D for like 20 dollars. So does anyone have experience on this? Should I just do it and post the results?

isn't that guide for a core 2 duo/conroe

would be interested in this however as I can 915's off ebay for 20 bucks and would love to mod them with a 1066fsb.
