Questions on 6970M

Thread Starter
Does anyone have any real world experience with the 6970M? Looks like a beast of a card, but I'm wondering how it really performs in games.

From researching, it looks like the 6970M is roughly the equivalent to the GTX 670M. I'm about to pop on a laptop and the 6970M is cheaper than the 670M, and the 660M.

Thanks

I used to have Crossfire 6970m in my M18x before I sold it. I can count on one hand the amount of times that I had crossfire enabled. The cards where pretty decent, I had no problem playing any game at 1920x1080 on high with no AA, or AF. It also overclocked well. I don't know if its close to 670m but notebook review says that the card is close to 6850 performance.

I currently have a 6970M in my possession and can state that it performed on par, exactly on par at that, with a GTX 465. It's exactly the same in terms of power as a GTX 670M and yes, it is considerably cheaper. It plays every game I own at high settings, if not max settings, at 1920x1200.

On top of that, it does overclock pretty well. I got mine up to 850/1000 and managed to score around 15k in Vantage, matching a GTX 470. tongue.gif
