Oh, I know it's not the same. But my understanding of PS2's joystick implementation was that it's a yes/no implementation, where it doesn't really treat it as a joystick with a range of motion. Like I said, I haven't looked into it in a while, but the last time I did around new years that's what it was.

Um, it's had support for absolute location control (turn based on how far you move) since beta. I know this, because I don't fly without one. It needs to be a bit less sensitive, but you could always control how fast you do something.

So it will work with a joystick huh... Any chance of getting it to work with my Xbox controller biggrin.gif

I should hope so... Plug it in and go nuts on the keybindings page, they give you complete control on how you want it, even letting you assign multiple keys from the same controller to one action. I haven't seen a keybind page this open since SW BFII and FSO.

I just started playing, and its some-what overwhelming. This game reminds me of a more complicated version of PS3's warhawk, which is not a bad thing.

Now when am I going to get my dream game, a MAG like game on PC?

hi guys. i borrowed my friends GTX 680 just to see what SLI 680 is like. In Planetside 2, it doesn't make a difference at all. Once it goes into CPU mode, it will struggle no matter what. Since having a 680 SLI setup is pretty much useless in Planetside 2, I'm considering getting a really good CPU chip, probably a I7-3820 on the 2011 socket. Do you think this is sensible?

Since the 3820 is basically a 3770k with 4 memory channels, not really. You already have a 2500k, it's going to be hard to beat that by a significant margin if it's OC'd well.

Bind pitch to the page forward and page back thumb buttons on your mouse. That way you don't need to lift the mouse to push/pull hard on the stick.

Rebind exit vehicle (aka the bail out and die button) to a key that isn't right next to the reload key.

On a whim I went to Wally World and bought a $14 laptop cooler, the kind with a big fan in the middle. Suddenly Planetside 2 works just fine on my m11x, getting 25 - 30 fps pretty consistently. It's not super smooth, but it's at least playable when I'm away from my desktop now.

Been watching my CPU clocks in CPU-Z. Before, thanks to SpeedStep and Turbo Boost, my CPU was anywhere from 600 MHz to 1.7 GHz. While in PS2, it was usually around 1.1 GHz. Now it's pretty consistently around 2.2 - 2.4 GHz while playing. Turbo Boost is pretty sweet when you can dump the extra heat!
