Yea there's a noticeable difference between 4 and 5 in the player model. I may try it again on 5 with the Aero theme turned off and see if I get the same crashes as before.

In theory, that is absolutely correct. In practice, not so clear cut.

Most of the tank battles Ive been invloved in as TR, have been close to bases and there is usually a plethoria of Heavy's ready to hug any tank that comes within lock on range.

In open field battles its still very difficult to plant a round or two on the mags butt. If you can get behind them, they just pivot in place and return the favour. Certing into side armour may help but it usually gets ugly.

With TRs anchor ability, Im seeing more Prowlers locking down and slugging it. But most engagements remain a long range affair.

Can you see the differences?
Not sure myself I think there is a tiny bit more detail to player models.
Setting Render distance from the 999999.9999 to 6000.0000 felt a little better in game.
The 9.... number is from stock settings with max render draw slider.

The only time I ever die to a VS is when they are in a Maggie.

I didn't record it. I should have, but I didn't.

In this new episode of "should have looked up", I was sitting in a tree. Now, that's nothing special, LA's do that all the time, but wow this run was easy.

(quick tab screen as I died. I think 20 of my kills were in this last life, I lost count)

So, yes, you can see the Sunderer there. I was, actually, not farming it. See, it didn't join the battle until I was down to 3 pistol clips. People just kept running in from the south west and hid... Under the tree I decided was going to be my new home. Quite the collection of bodies I had going for a while there.

At one point, some TR LA thought that is was his home and flew up, completely oblivious that I had already claimed this tree. He was promptly knifed and sent back down to the ground where he belonged.

Now, I know I said before that the AC-X11 is a baby Gauss SAW, and it is, and that means that at close range I retain my 3-hit kill when I am allowed to take my time and make sure you go down quickly. (And if you don't know where I am, I will take my time) As despicable as the TR are, they still deserve a quick death. (and that totally has nothing to do with me not wanting to deal with their retaliation. whistle.gif ) However, for anyone who's ever taken a round from a Magshot, It packs a punch. In fact, it also does the same 200 damage up close, meaning, yet again, that I have that 3-shot kill that I love so much. Pair it with a silencer and you get, what I assume it must look like from the TR prospective, bodies dropping for no reason. biggrin.gif

So remember kids, look up, an NC that can take his time isn't something you want at your back or anywhere else you can't see.

I really have not played the Infiltrator class much but after watching Jenny Boo’s video (http://www.planetside-universe.com/showthread.php?t=52978 ), I got all inspired and decided to give it a go.

I had some serious fun last night as an infil and decided to put some more time and certs into this class for my char.

After starting off with the TR default rifle, the 99SV, I decided it sucked, so I moved to the M77-B Bolt action and had a much more enjoyable time.

I understand from what I have read that bolt action rifles are the only way to go as a sniper, so my questions follow…

1) In your opinion, which is the most accurate of the TR BAR’s?

The wiki only lists four, the M77, SR7, RAMS .50 and the TSAR 42. Which would you recommend?

2) Any recommendations on a scope?

3) Also, what would you recommend as far as ‘must have’ certs?

I have terminal Hacking and nano armour to level 3, nano cloaking to level 2 and a med kit.

4) What is the difference between Hunter Cloaking Device and Nano-Armour Cloaking?

Thanks and see you out there…

I have over 200 vehicle kills in the last two weeks since the patch, I promise you, you won't win.

Maybe your extremely amazing, maybe your lucky and fight terrible Mag drivers, maybe you've got a great secondary gunner, or maybe the mags secondary gunner sucks. There is alot of "maybes" in this situation. I could say the same thing from a mag perspective. I don't fear prowlers or vanies, I don't even hesitate unless they break into the short-early mid range. If it's mid-long range battles I don't care about your projectile speed. I can still dodge it and if they are decent I will atleast dodge 1/2 and return the favor shot for shot. So you "might" be amazing, I cannot disprove this, just the same as you cannot disprove that I'm a good mag driver. But saying that a prowler will win every time..Is laughable. 200 kills in a week is not a really impressive number to rave about.

1) Whatever has the fastest bullet velocity (and hardest hitting). You're looking to land head shots and that's easiest with whatever has the least bullet drop. For me as NC, that's the Longshot.

2) Doesn't matter much. I personally use 10X.

3) Ammunition belt. It lets you camp out in your favorite spots for much longer. And mines as well, because you can use them to defend your point. If you're in a spot that has only one or two possible "entrances", mine them to prevent anyone from knifing you in the back.

4) Go hunter cloak. It regenerates a depleted cloak quicker (so less down-time in between cloaking), which is exactly what you need when you don't want to be seen.

I play an hour a day. I have no secondary gunner, and the full projectile speed bonus means that at 500-700 meters you can't even strafe the length of your tank before the shot lands. Hitting afterburning aircraft is a cinch, and I promise you I suck. Strafing is a close range combat ability, sitting still is not. Common sense dictates this.

Looks like Higby is nesting and doing some housekeeping. Personally, I have no feelings either way.
