I'm not sure why people think the Mag strafe is so cool... I strafe in all tanks. Turn sideways, drive back and forth, long bomb the living heck out of anything in the distance with good dodging... I get that it can do some great maneuvering others can't, but its not so godly different. I think that the Mag is simply very noob friendly and the other tanks are underutilized...

As for Galaxys. I'd like to see a few "Max Turret" seats. Give the Max a seat that can open up or something and let the bugger shoot. Give us something off the wall. I've wanted "Max Turrets" at bases since Day 1 of playing. Like those large bases that have the walls running from tower to tower with turrets. We have a turret now there. add "tracks" on the outer egde and let the Max get and move the turret along the tracks. Let him use his weapons and the turrets at the same time and it feeds him Ammo as long as the Gens are up.

My main issue as of late is my frames and the lag... in a game where medium long distance aim isn't super easy to begin with, lag really makes it hard to play frown.gif

Can't wait till I move to Ontario and off the East Coast. I get routed through some terrible hops on my connection...

I partially agree, I do the same thing. You'll rarely see me shooting with my turret faceing forward, unless I'm chasing something down like a Sundie. I also use side armor almost exclusively now. The Magrider does have the strafing advantage though, as it can go in all 4 directions with a simple button direction. Vangaurds and Prowlers don't have that option, it's two directional. Yes, you can change track direction, but that takes precious extra seconds. Our best option to overcome that is doing on the move. IMHO, Magriders excell in fast engagements because of that reason.

There is a disadvantage to the Magrider too, as it can't move parallel to a target and fire, as the Prowler and Vangaurd can. sinc e it can't strafe at the speed the other two can move in this case. If you really get track control down in a fight, and use cover, Mags can have problems, as generally they need to chase in a close quarters fight. The trick is to force them to chase you for LOS, and getting around them quickly. It works for most, but just like anything else, there are some darn good Mag drivers out there.

If I get into a game of peek-a-boo with a Mag rider at about the third time they strafe back out of LOS I just charge them, flank around and blow them up biggrin.gif

It is also fun to make a Magrider fall off a cliff because they are strafing backwards and trying to not let you get behind them. Hilarious!

Ha ha, yes, I've seen this too! If only there was an animation to take a leak, I would right after this happens, over the edge of the cliff.

Amen. It takes a bit more skill I think to get in an outmanuever a Mag (Mag is more newb-friendly) and not let it strafe/turn fast enough to get ya. Mag's are also much easier to fire while driving I find, not as prone to massive bumps completely throwing your aim off by 50 yards or so haha. But yea, I find it actually rather balanced, in an unbalanced way. Which is what I think makes a game with such a scale so fun. A > B > C > D > E > ....... Z > A > B > .... not quite that, but you guys should know what I mean.

After dumping 800 certs into anchor and grabbing side armor and AP rounds, I don't care about the magrider anymore. I just take root and shell the crap out of them. They either run away or die, and if they run away I go and find somebody else to terrorize.

Saving up for that last 1000 cert purchase in anchor is a bear though, my ADD keeps finding other petty stuff to blow my certs on every time I get to 4-500... redface.gif

I know they don't want to make the game too easy, but does anyone else get annoyed that in 2000 our M1 Abrams has the ability to keep it's barrel aligned while moving over bumpy terrain but in the year whatever the heck PS2 is set in we've some how lost that ability? I mean our current generation main battle tanks can hit 60mph and fire on the move with near pin point accuracy making strategic positioning a much bigger factor than aiming ability since the comuter systems on board have taken care of that, By now we should have holorgam projected trajectory's for each shell ala the bow from Gears of war showing the path and inherent obstacles for each shell fired.

Meh... an Abrams takes a crew of 4 to operate. In PS2 I can operate the whole tank by myself and leap off of 100 ft cliffs and drive away unscathed.
I like where the advances have gone.

I love this idea. A new cert tree for the main battle tanks, with the caveat of a small percentage of a chance for a permanent ban while equipped. biggrin.gif
