I think you should be fine. Client-side hit detection should make for some wonky deaths ("I totally got behind cover, that was crap..."), but remember it happens when you kill them too.

Also, I actually watched network usage while playing, it didn't go over 600kbps down, and maybe 75kbps up.

I've been running with a Suppressor on my AC-X11 recently. I'm really loving it. Yes it takes an extra bullet or 2 to kill, but I don't show up on the minimap at all now (pistol also has one), nor do I make a light. Clean misses don't scare the target. Basically, I get more time to do what the NC do best (and need); line up a shot.

I've got to keep my distance from NC to win any more, which means I miss more because I have such a high spread, because I have higher RoF. It's okay though, I'm learning to aim better. Just can't out-damage you guys when every shot you fire hits. tongue.gif

I was worried that taking flinch out would turn the game into a DPS race and it seems to be that in close quarters. Which is not terribly bad, mind, but now people are going to whine about not being able to win because of lower DPS, which will result in the devs leveling everything out, so all of the weapons will become vanilla copies of each other with no play variety.

Its Everquest all over again... Makes me sad inside... I wish the people influencing the game would take into account the long-term effects of their requests.

Nik, your ping is better than mine in the U.S.. If you have problems, they will be of the first world variety. thumb.gif

I don't think that will happen. There are other ways to make balance, such as ammo count, reload times, recoil, without having to touch ROF and Damage.

I knew Sol Tech had a lot of mossy pilots. Now that it’s combined with Matterson's, I swear I counted TR at 15 to 20 ESF and 3 or 4 Libs circling a base at one point. I have to say that I don't think I have seen more than a handful of scythes in the air since the merge.

Also, I think TR is getting the short straw with their new rocket launcher. I guess it depends on how much damage it deals, but having to keep line of sight to guide the missiles sounds like a death sentence.

But how many people are going to ask for the other adjustments, and how many are going to ask for RoF and damage changes? You're counting on the masses to make your decisions, not your own individual judgement. The masses are very, very stupid, and have managed to ruin every MMO to date. Don't underestimate the ability of their influence to override the sound judgement of the developers, because you will lose that bet every time.

Doesn't bother me, I'm always charging into the line of fire anyways. Running towards the fight while guiding a missile at the same time doesn't sound difficult.

Getting in and out requires confirmation from the server (to remove/add new entity, and modify the vehicle one), but driving the vehicle itself will be just like running around as infantry; it's all on you, you're just telling the server where you are.

600kps?! That's way higher than I would have though. It's fine for me, but it seems a bit excessive.

As far as latancy, anything under 80ms seems to work fine in the game. Although for you, you'll just have to see. Last night I was getting latency spikes, and had a few issues while flying, and that was about it. I'm not positive on what it was spiking to though, I was a little busy blowing up Mags and Sundies in the Lib gunner chair! biggrin.gif

Well they do have to tell you the location of over 100 people, what direction they're facing, how they're moving, if they're ADSing, when they fire, and, of course, when they die. tongue.gif Gotta get you all that info somehow.

Agreed. Sony showed their hand when they were doing tank balance when they showed us the MBT charts. They're goal isn't really to make a "fair" 1v1 all else equal, their goal is to make it so in the end they perform about the same.

See above. They didn't nerf the Mag because people complained, they nerfed it because it was, over all, getting twice the MBT kills of the other MBTs. Everybody else knew the Mag was OP, so they complained, and they were right.

They haven't nerfed the scatmax at all despite the CONSTANT whining, and I bet that's because outside a BioLab, it sucks.

Yeah, coming from SolTech, it's like the two server's high air rate had babies and multiplied. Last night was rediculous, air everywhere. I think it's time to invest in a Skygaurd tongiht.
