I recorded a session where I ran after some TR. I was armed with silenced mercenary as NC LA. I caught up to them and one by one took then out all while they were running to an objective. One even looked at me but turned back around Lol.

Love these moments.

Things I want to see in PS2 that would actually benefit the game and improve playability in the direction this game is supposed to be going, which is not down the tubes:

A fixed verson of Galaxy spawning.

Radar for Galaxies: 2 forms for this; One a localized cone the pilot can aim, that reveals all ground forces in a certain area to the local allies for a moderate amount of reach so that he can try to stay out of firing range. The next a radius around the galaxy that he can maintain by continually flying over the area. I only see a few outfits using galaxies anymore, and it's typically not to great effect. Not because they're bad at using them, but because Galaxies are just bad. Giving a galaxy pilot something he can do other than play shuttle bus is a necessity.

Command seats in both Galaxies and Sunderers: No one pays attention to the retarded yellow messages in the chat window, which was implemented with the idea of giving experienced players an opportunity to influence the battlefield beyond their outfit. Put a command seat in a Sunderer from which they can set localized objective points on a larger minimap for players in the area to see if they choose, launch flares, and - if they're brave little armchair generals - yell commands over a bullhorn and tell the enemy their exact location. You can put the same thing in a galaxy without the bullhorn.

2-way Radios: Cert into this and you can pick up voice chat on local channels. Players in the zerg who want to contribute can tune in and pick up information from, say, a person sitting in the command seat of a galaxy or sunderer. wink.gif

Large scale combat is supposed to involve strategy. None of the changes SOE has made to date involve adding strategy to the game, just individual playability.

So, I picked up that bundle, then traded the WoT credits for PS2 station cash... And I couldn't be happier! After my little spending spree of things I've long wanted, I think I'll keep the remaining 3k and some change for the daily deals. Bulldog today... Got that!

On thing I am considering though, is the longshot. What do you guys think?

I like the Gal idea. The AWACS type thing would be pretty interesting, it could lead to having Gals over every platoon, and making a point of contention. It would make ruling the skies that much more important. Though, I don't know how much you've seen, but my Outfit still regularly uses Gals. Having trouble fighting off a platoon? Head to the WG for a Gal hot-drop to open battle on a new front. The only caveat to that, is that usually they become disposable. Unless a continent is sparsely populated, of course. In that case, A few Gals can rule the world.

So far, they have done a good job making sure most vehicles aren't forgotten (with the exception of the Reaver, and Galaxy.) Otherwise, they've keep things pretty even.

Longshot is a good sniper BAR... Im always getting pinged by them at crazy long ranges.

Longshot is a good sniper BAR... Im always getting pinged by them at crazy long ranges.

At 800 damage per shot unsilenced (you have 1000 health), it doesn't matter where you hit most of the time, the target is either dead or will be soon. tongue.gif

And that's the problem. As soon as they drop 12 soldiers where you want them, their only purpose is to feed the opposition a silly amount of points. I've been seeing some people do some really, really bizarre crap with Galaxies lately, and it's all because once they drop their payload, they don't care. The most interesting thing they can do is fly around the watch tower upside down, and that's exactly what they head off to do. Or they try to push enemy tanks off the side of a cliff, or about a dozen other boredom-curing things.
