I sure hope not! I'm a sucker for aesthetic items and I'd love some new armor.

Like all MMOs that don't have instants its Memory dependent. I upgrade from 4 gigs to 16gigs and most of my problem went away !biggrin.gif

Hmm I wonder if 8 gig is being used effectively if your seeing great performance with 16 gigs.
How many hours do you play? It may also point to a memory leak which would explain weird performance issues. I have 8 gigs and get 40-60 fps even in heavy fights, but I don't play more than an hour lately.

Anyway to improve the render of capture flags on points? When I fly my reaver it feels like I have to get within 100 m of the base to see the insignia flags, which is really annoying when in combat and looking for a friendly area.

Do what I do, fly with a wingman, he does not need to stay right on your six the entire time. What I do however is setup a "fall back" point, this normally is a repair/ammo point closest to the action. If either gets a hostile on our six, and cannot shake them quickly we just call "hostile on my six, heading to fallback" and the other zips to that location and clears the target off you. Keeps you from having to check your map for a safe spot, just use a personal marker to keep tabs on it's direction.

I'm so garbage at this game, and the lag and the fact that my PC can't seem to scrape up more than 25fps really doesn't help. I've been killed 674 times in 2 days frown.gif

The thing that bothers me the most is that I can't tell who the enemy and allies are, half the time the little tags don't show and you can't go by colors so I keep not shooting enemies and then team killing by accident.

Oh well, I guess once I play for a while I might get better.

Me (like many other people) and really getting bad frames, but I hope SOE fixes them soon. Other than that, very fun game. I got bored of Tribes: Ascend pretty fast.

If you are NC; everyone with a blue dorito over their head is friendly. No Dorito or Dorito that is not blue is enemy. Press Q while looking at them to get a Dorito above their head, as well as to show them on the minimap for everyone on your team.

If you are Vanu or TR, replace the color blue with purple or red respectively if you have team colors set to "empire specific" in settings. I personally change Vanu to white because their purple looks too close to blue for my liking, and frankly white Doritos are bright neon signs that say "shoot right below me"

Thats the problem, the dorito's aren't showing up on about 75% of the players even right near me, I looked for some kind of settings for it but didn't see any. I'll pop off a shot and it yells at me that I'm shooting a friendly.

Takes time to figure out who is who. Unlike games like COD and BF3 they don't give you Gaint red name tags for miles away. You need to look at the target and Q em to figure out. Or, once you've played enough, you can simply tell by armor style. It's something that takes time and experience.
