Two of our officers are located in England. IDK what the lag is like.
If you are willing to follow orders, and be respectful to all players no matter how badly you think they are behaving, that's good enough for us.

Azure Twilight has some amazing officers and squad leaders, and I believe that + tight discipline is our true strength. The skill level of the general membership probably follows a bell curve - equal parts leet and not-leet, with lots of average. We accept anyone who wants to join us, but at least half the people who join end up quitting after a few days because of the discipline requirements (follow orders quickly, no profanity, no trash talk, mandatory participation in outfit ops when officers are running them, mandatory participation in TeamSpeak no mic required, if your orders are boring you follow them anyway, don't question the officers publicly and instead ask them to join you in a private channel, absolutely no teamkilling ever for any reason even if they do it to you repeatedly, and so on . . .).

We offer various kinds of training, usually once per week. This week there will be a Light Assault course taught by one of our more personally deadly officers. Historically, there has been a Galaxy piloting course every week taught by one of our better tacticians. If you want to learn how to fly a Scythe, our Air Cavalry officer used to provide close air support professionally in the US Air Force and will sometimes provide training upon request. One of our more "special" officers is hosting a Squad Leader training course this week.

Friend and foe alike call Azure Twilight "The Hammer of the Vanu Sovereignty". When the VS zerg gets bogged down, we un-bog them. We were the largest VS outfit in Planetside 1, and I think we still are the largest VS outfit on Mattherson in PS2.

If anyone would like to join us, here is how:
-read the rules
-complete Azure 101
-sign off in this thread that you have read the rules (tell them Fenrys recruited you please wink.gif )
-jump on our TeamSpeak 3 server and ask for an outfit invite (you can do this part first if you'd like)

[/recruitment]

On a semi-related note, one of our members put together this spreadsheet of all infantry weapons and their damage and TTK at various ranges:

It doesn't sit at 60 fps as consistantly as it did with just a single 1080p monitor, but in big fights, it still drops to 30-40 fps like before. And it looks quite amazing. I'll post some screenshots this evening. You do seem to have to run a widescreen fix for the FOV to be correct, but once you do, it's amazing. Only thing I've noticed is that it takes a second or two longer to bring up the menu/map for some reason.

I'm CPU bound 55fps average at 1600x900....How are you playing 5k with playable fps at all...? I'm on all low with 85% render too..

Surprising playable. I thought for sure my frame rate would be terrible basing it off of the single monitor set up, but it actually doesn't affect the frame rate nearly as much as I thought. I run vsync, but with it off I believe I was getting upwards of 80 fps in the warp gate, and decreasing to 30 at it's lowest point in huge battles. With the higher resolution, it runs between 50-70 at the warpgate, and in the big battles I still drop to a lowest of 30 according to the ingame meter. I can't say for sure if I've been in the same size battles across both set ups, but I guess it would make sense if the game is more CPU bound than GPU bound. I did notice the fans running more and faster with the 3 screens, so maybe I was getting more utilization since it seemed low (50% both cards) on a single screen.

Also, at 85% render as well.

If you're CPU bound, then adding monitors wouldn't simply make it worse, since the CPU isn't doing the rendering, it's calculating the amount of people and all the actions or something right? So adding monitors wouldn't change that, since I'd imagine that the CPU works independent of your field of vision, but rather your radius from your character and all the action within the zone that things happen for your character. Adding monitors would just increase the load that your GPU takes, which isn't the limiting factor.

I know that's not all wholly true, since I don't understand the complexities of CPU and GPU roles in the gameplay rendering process, but that's kinda the idea that I gather from my experiences.

For instance, I'm averaging 50+ fps, and around 40fps that I've noticed when in big battles. I play at 1680x1050, all settings on High. Have you tried with higher texture quality and things? Just to see if increasing GPU load affects FPS negatively? I'm assuming it probably shouldn't if CPU is the limiting factor. I haven't messed with my settings, as no matter if it drops to 35ish fps, it's still smooth as butter and doesn't bother me in the slightest.

On a gameplay related note: I was a part of another huge platoon today, and we were fantastically organized. At one point though, we were getting ready to advance after capturing a tech plant, and I got on a flash along with the platoon leader and a couple of others, and I was following him. He turned into to some rough mountain-side terrain in order to cut a more direct route, and says, "Hey Alphas on Flashes, good luck keeping up with me." I responded, "Right behind you," and as soon as I finished saying that, I hit a jump, landed on a rock at a weird angle, bounced off and flipped over and blew up, at the same time as the platoon leader. I told him, "Hahaha! I blew up right next to you," and he says, "Well, I'm glad someone did it with me..."

You VS scum! smile.gif

I play on Connery, so far it seems TR are the dominant faction however the NC are the only ones to have controlled all 3 continents. Although I'm fairly certain TR does as well as it does because they're broken all to hell.

Don't the enclave play on that server?

I'd like to give it a try! I do have a microphone, and I'll try to communicate what's necessary through the english that I know biggrin.gif
I already have Teamspeak and use it daily, so that's no problem.

I'm watching the video right now, but I don't have the time to join and what not right now, later today though. I think I'd have to play a little PS2 alone for a couple of hours, because it's really a new game to me biggrin.gif

Another question: Who are the members? Mainly OCN members?

I lead my squad to victory on Esamir in Waterson last night, awesome time. We tore everyone up on the west side of the map and moved into the center while other squads took over the rest. Conquered the map for VS, then we moved on to Amerish but I didn't have time and only captured one base with my squad. On Esamir though I was playing Mr. Transport in the Galaxy, hauling full loads back and forth whenever someone needed a ride. I've now gotten used to how you capture the larger bases: control the teleporters, come in from all sides possible (air drop infantry on the enemy landing pads) and bring down the shields ASAP for your ground vehicles to move in for the kill. There were times where immediately after capturing a base we would see a horde of transports in the air headed our way and we would set up rows of Engineer turrets and tanks defending the boundaries. It was awesome biggrin.gif
