Thanks, @jellis142 I'll take a look when the next time I jump onto the game.

I do love how alot of folks call the VS the "easy" way. We've got so many disadvantages it's not even funny. Oh, sure you've got no bullet drop, you've got low recoil. That all you can say?

TR and NC have much stronger weapons, with predictable recoil that once you spend more then 5 minutes working with them, you don't even need to worry. I could list all the pro's/con's all day. But everyone will only focus on the two points I made. But ignore every glaring weakness like lack of comparable heavy infantry weapons, assault rifles, and race specific abilities. Plus we also have a considerable lower population then the other factions, meaning we've gotta work that much harder to make up for the difference in troop count.

what is all this infantry talk? I have yet to see a Vanu outside of a Magrider. tongue.gif
Seriously though, the NC weapons do hit harder, but the 'shake' when being hit makes it very difficult to finish anything off that is able to return fire. More often than not, you will start shooting at someone, for them to turn around and kill you. The biggest strength I see with NC is the Vanguard, but NC seem to have a strong preference for infantry, and Vanguards go down quick when air shows up. I'll give you that TR is probably better equipped infantry/air-wise than vanu simply because of their high rate of fire and small amount of recoil, but the prowler is pretty terrible against anything but infantry.

If NC gets their sh#t together, they dominate. Only getting the sh#t together is the tricky part.

I agree that I feel the NC heavy is better than the Vanu. He has 100 shots and I've done 50% ranged kills on semi with it... semi, in a game like this (the other 50% are unfinished jobs, assist kills). The recoil is heavy, bullet spread large and firing rate low, but if you manage to hit, the enemies go down well. Hell, I've been killing up to five Vanu's in a row lately, heavies, lights, all in the mix and up to three TR's with all their custom camo painted skull helmets and level 40's up their asses. Kinda shows that Vanu infantry is indeed inferior, but I've been okay as Vanu infantry during my Vanu service time.
I think it is more important to upgrade the gauss LMG than other faction's heavy weapons. Without upgrades the NC LMG is under-performing, with upgrades it becomes effective, there is no middle ground with NC, they are a faction of extremes. Either you're weak, or you're strong. TR LMG is better though, but I noticed, the more I upgraded my shield and armor, the longer they begun to take killing me, where in return I gained more time to take them out (which I do). I hate upgrading still.

Gameplay is f#kn tiring though. Pointless combat without achievements. Even Counter Strike De_Dust only servers are more exciting. There's a beginning and an end, even if you start over again.

Maybe it's server dependent, but the Briggs server does not have a large tank spam issue for the VS. I've noticed that the NC use more tanks, and the TR have switched to aggressive air useage. What I've noticed about the NC is they tend to lone wofl more then any other faction. Even more so in the skies and tanks. The NC do have good weapons, your right that they need upgrades to truely make them shine. But the extra damage they do really turns the tide of battle. Once players learn to use controlled burst as a NC they will dominate. Full auto or extended bursts are not their strong suite in mid/long range battles.

I find right now the NC have a bad habit of lone wolf playing. Like I said before. they like to fly off solo, drive into the open without any support. They are currently the only faction that has this invisibility mentality, but also thinks they are weak because of these glaring "player" issues.

can one still expect poor frames from a SLI/crossfire setup? lets say 680 sli 7970 xfire range. i have a 680 and it struggles to keep at 60fps at max.

Vanu is seriously outgunned in many departments. Though I find that Vanu needs less players to take it to TR, because while they may have all the firepower, it isn't worth much without the skill.

TR Skyguards are probably the most OP loadout in any game ever made.
NC? Meh. Whatever. I don't hate them like I do the nubs on TR.

It can be tedious yes. Especially as a platoon lead. That's why you need a solid group, to rotate jobs.

This game isn't good for a player that needs a constant pat on the back. IMO, too many people believe they need achievement systems in every game they play. Forget that, I want something more meaningful when I get a bunch of kills, ect. That's one reason I love PS2 the way I do. I don't need achievements, I have Certs. Granted, the Cert system is FAR from perfect, but they are working on it.
