GTX 570 yay or nay

Thread Starter
Im writing this specially in the nvidia section so maybe people could understand me a lil
Better.. I own hd 7850 ATM and I'm not 100% happy from it, mainly the drivers and some games aren't the smoothest and even get some weird freezes, I'm really certain this wouldn't happen with a nvidia card. I had gtx 260 before and I was rly happy. Now I have to option to pick up gtx 570 pretty cheap n then I could sell my 7850 so I won't lose money at least not something major. Do u guys think it would be stupid todo so? I also wanna get 3D screen which nvidia support is gd with it and just the drivers <3 even tho the 7850 is 28nm and has higher VRAM it still worse against the 570:/ yes or no:d (sorry for the confusion writing from my phone) edit:I will never go dual monitor or anything like that maybe just 27-30inch monitor for the highest 16:9 reso as upgrade from my 24 but even this not any soon so crazy resos where VRAM comes important doesn't fit here I guess my CPU is 3570k

It depends on how cheap the 570 is and how much you can get for your 7850.

First i wouldn't rush into something like this since an OC'ed 7850 is almost always on par or better but with much less power consumption, and the fact that you already have one.

~Which drivers are you using?

~Is this a fresh OS install, or was nV on the system prior?

Is there any way my TX Corsair 750 can't cope with 3570 at 3.8(turbo) stock voltage and either 7850 or gtx570? Considering the 570 takes about double in load? To ppl above Im using the latest driver and clean windows. Btw I'm not intersed in overclock ing either 1

Not worth it at all.... Unless you continue to have problems.

If your using the latest driver, that's probably your problem. Try going back to 12.7

I had this same dilemma when I was looking for a new gpu in april, I've had bad experiences with amd drivers in the past and I like physx so I went with nvidia. According to most tests 570 is faster than the hd7850 (overclocking is a whole different story since every card has a different potential). Its only a matter of vram in your case, If you could find a 2.5gb gtx570 you'd be golden but those are usually expensive and since you are gonna end up adding money on top of what you can get for your card anyway (considering the pricedrops on 7serieis) you might aswell go with GTX 660 or even 660 ti
