i5 3570k vs i7 3770k

Thread Starter
Ive been bouncing back and forth between which processor is right for me. Aside from 'one has hyperthreading' (whatever that exactly translates into) what exactly are the real world differences that I would see in daily computer usage, the i7 being a hundred dollars more. Can someone briefly explain what they are?

Basically the difference between the performance should be from 0-5% or so. (Give or take a few %)
So IMHO going for the i7 3770K over i5 3570K would not make any perfomance difference. This is just like how it was between the 2500K and 2600K of SB family.
So you should save those 100$ and utilize them in something more meaningful like invest those 100 bucks in a GPU.
You would see a much bigger difference that way.
For eg: Going from a 200$ card to a 300$ card makes quite a big of difference in your gaming performance.
Besides the i5 3570K wont bottleneck any GPU I know of today. (Still not sure about the GTX 690 tongue.gif)
So dont bother getting i7 3770K IMO if you have to cheap out on some other component that would matter performance wise.
