i think we need to get on amd and bethesda because i have read on alot of fourms that skyrim is running like crap on anything above 7850 with the artifacting i told asus i will wait to ship back cuz i dont think it is card and dont really wanna be out of a crad for 2-3 weeks for them to tell me it is fine... so everyone with problem send all your info to bethesda and amd and maybe some one will do something and if not i will never buy amd gpu agian as there drivers are nothing like nivdia and there support so far sucks.
I don't know if I should place the RMA now.

I'm concerned that if I send the card back they'll give me another crappy 7870 with the black screen issue.

I just contacted Sapphire support and they told me that Sapphire wasn't planning a call back for the 7870. But they did offer me to RMA.

I told them not just yet, as I want to wait what Sapphire has to say about the "no signal" problem.

Thread Starter
All thisfuss about no signal problem is somewhat strange, if the cards are problem, how the hell they run Heaven for 3 hours(my example)?

I bet this is driver issuse and AMD doesnt know the solution.

I dont say there aren cards with that problem, i saw couple of them that fail in any 3d app(bench, game and so on).

Many applications can cause errors such as GPFs, color scrambling, loss of sound effects or music, etc. Taking a minute to turn off these applications can save you the trouble of rebooting later. Background applications include such things as System Agent, Norton Utilities, Internet chat utilities, virus checkers and screen savers. Crash guard programs such as First Aid for Windows can also cause problems. To do this:

With the new 12.11 Beta, the problems are gone, however I am receiving flash player crashes in programs and websites that use flash player. It happens after a while of constant clicking around maybe just at random.
Just wanted to update you guys here, it's been fixed for me so far for my MSI 7870. I don't know what the past few pages have been about, but I keep reading that AMD/Sapphire says that some problem is hardware related and not software? If it's about the core clock/usage/flash player crashes, it's software for me as 12.9 had core/usage problems, but didn't receive crashing in flash player, however with 12.11 it's reversed.
Thanks AMD! Keep the drivers rolling!

AFAIK the Lightning,HAWK, and PE doesn't use cheap capacitors because they are "MILSPEC"

Hey guys. How are these problems with 7870 gigabyte 1100 and 12.11 drivers?
I want to make an order today but dont want to end with all those problems.

Are those problems apparent on all 78 79 cards or am I rather safe with that gigabyte?

edit: nevermind - ordere 7870 gigabyte.

Hi,
I have the same problem with the sapphire hd 7870 oc edition. But I noticed that the screen goes black only when I set my fan speed manually between 70-100% If I do that i can be only playing between 5 minutes or 2 hours (the problem is randomly) but if I set the fans on auto i have no issue any more, also the problems occurs when I'm using afterburner, if I don´t use it I don´t have the error. Has anyone else notice this?
