I knw 3DMark...... Plz suggest a few more.
Apart frm tht i will also test via playing games like BF3 etc...

You can download furmark. Just google it up. That will super stress test your gpu and show you it's maximum temp. It might also kill your gpu if your cooling is that bad tongue.gif

By the way, I just want to share.. My Max temp in my 7870 Vortex II after running furmark for 15 mins is 71c.

if you want to stay around 250 dollars. good luck with the next card.

Lately I've been getting a few black screens after 15 mins or so of playing Planetside 2 and other games (playing with OC'd Sapphire). This is the 2nd 7870 sapphire that I've gotten (first one had to be RMA'd). The VGA signal cuts out and I have to restart. Lately it happened once at startup too. The memory clock was set at 1280, and the core clock was set at 1120, but the black screens only started recently. It seems fine now though.

BF3 and everyday gaming.

Furmark is waste of time if you are testing or black screen error, it will never show up.

I read somewhere that Windows 8 is the culprit here as it doesn't allow overclocking on video card and playing direct3d games. It will occasionally crash, system reboot, bsod. etc. In windows 7 very few complains about this 'black screen' or crashing issues but most complainers are on windows 8 already. I don't know it's real but on my experience as well, it is.

The Black screen error is very difficult to pin down, so I just recommend you play some heavy games (BF3, FC3, Metro, Crysis 1 & 2, Witcher 2, anything that can stretch those gpu muscles) as much as you can. The black screen error is extremely random, but if in the next couple weeks it never happens than you are probably ok. There is no foolproof method of coaxing out that error.

From what i found, if you dont have black screen in seven days straight gaming , everything is ok.

Thanks, I'm already familiar with the LE card. Might turn to the 7950, idk yet.

I doubt this, the black screen issue has been around before W8 launch. I'm also still on 7.

I get screen flickers in Windows all the time on my 7970 card. (I'm guessing it's a 120Hz bug.) Does anyone know anything about this? I've got 12.11 beta 11 installed.
